Over the years, I've frequented this great spot in Santa Barbara right on State Street. It has a great location and great ambiance - AND Italian fare. Over and over, I have ordered the Chicken Piccata. MmmMmm. It's a good thing my mother taught me some manners, or I'd just pick up the plate and lick up the remaining sauce,... More

We were looking for a place to eat out in Santa Barbara on our first night visiting with our canine companion and found Chase on State Street. We were very glad we did! First, it was within a half hour of closing time and they welcomed us in without hesitation. Second, the pub tables on the small sidewalk patio were... More

I just stumbled across this restaurant while shopping with the wife. She was taking an aged to try things on so I went looking for a beer. It's actually quite hard to find somewhere on the main road that accommodates drinking in the sun. I didn't fancy sitting inside. The chase restaurant could accommodate me in my wish. I had... More

We stopped there for lunch while visiting the downtown area of Santa Barbara based on the menu outside and the prices . When we entered the place , we thought we were getting in the dining room of a private club because of the decor and the ambiance ! We (4) all ordered fish from the lunch menu and all... More

I had the eggplant parmesan with a side of fettucine Alfredo. Large portions; it was like having two meals in one. I barely made it through, but forced myself as it was sooooo yummy. Husband had the veal with ham and mozzarella. He was happy with his meal, too.

Went for lunch with no reservation. We hit at a good time so there was no wait. The hostess was very friendly and seated us immediately. Waiter and service were excellent. Ambiance nice for mid-day. The pork milanese was superb. Best pork I have ever eaten. The Al Capone cocktail served in chilled glass (big plus) and offered a unique... More

I drove to Santa Barbara to see an exhibit at the art museum, so I was strolling on State street when I passed Chase. The place was buzzing with a raucous crowd inside, so I opted to sit outside. There was no one else seated outside, so I asked the waitress if she were seating there. Very pleasant young woman.... More

Chase has been a classic local hang-out for decades. With its old-school bar, red naugahyde booths and supper club feel, you almost expect Dean Martin to come sauntering along with a martini in hand! Great drinks and simple but good Italian food in an unpretentious classy place... truly amazing in trend obsessed Santa Barbara.
