A Classy Classic

Chase has been a classic local hang-out for decades. With its old-school bar, red naugahyde booths and supper club feel, you almost expect Dean Martin to come sauntering along with a martini in hand! I drove to Santa Barbara to see an exhibit at the art museum, so I was strolling on State street when I passed Chase. The place was buzzing with a raucous crowd inside, so I opted to sit outside. There was no one else seated outside, so I asked the waitress if she were seating there. Very pleasant young woman.... More

We were on a short trip with my son & his family who live in Hermosa Beach. Looking for a lunchtime meal for the family and happily deciided on Chase. The food was really great! Good Italian fare but not your basic pasta/pizza that so many chains offer. The service was really good and we had great recommendations. My granddaughters... More

We stopped in for Lunch, not knowing anything about Chase. We got really lucky, the Salmon in an Orange Reduction coupled with Alfredo Angel Hair was superb! All of us had something different and there were raves around the table. We returned the next day for Dinner and were even more impressed. Make certain that you make reservations, it is... More

Just really good Italian cuisine! Menu offers a good variety. Less crowded in the middle of the week.

Lunch at Chase today was wonderful. We had the halibut picata and the calamari. Both were prepared perfectly. Our serve Edgar was so helpful as were the rest of the staff. Perfect service and perfect food. what could be better.

We met friends in Santa Barbara for lunch. The food is consistently good at Chase Bar & Grill. I always have the Veal Piccata and Spaghetti (ask to have it on a separate plate if you don't want the sauces to mix). My husband had the Veal Provincial. We both enjoyed the food. The desserts were delicious too. My husband... More

The Chase is on the main street (State) in Santa Barbara but there are a number of parking lots close by. It is a bit hard to spot so drive slowly on lower State St. There is some sidewalk seating plus a bar inside. We always opt for a small booth in the back. It was very nicely decorated with... More

Wife and I eat Lunch here on fridays during our biannual visits to Santa Barbara. The Menu has changed but the quality of food has not. The staff is super!!! Very personal, recognize people by their names, impressive. New people treated like Royalty!

We stopped in for a drink and an appetizer and ended up staying for dinner! There are a few outside tables and we wanted to have a drink and do a little people watching on State Street so we stopped in and enjoyed ourselves very much. We had appetizers of calamari and pesto bread which was delicious and cheesy! Then... More
