Had a late dinner here when a lot of restaurants around had stopped serving food. Ordered the mussels, lasagna and chicken and all dishes were delicious! Mussels especially good. Service was great but could be that we were pretty much the only ones in the place. Would definitely recommend!

We had dinner at Chase. The bar was full as there was a BB game on and this created a great atmosphere. The food was good and large portions. The service was good and fast. The place had an air of efficiency!

Consistently excellent food. Great location right on State. Cozy feel with friendly service. Menu is standard, but done well.

Great food, great staff, great place to meet the locals. Wife and I lunch here every trip to Santa Barbara! You'll find us at the bar on the street open end of the place. Great selectiions of wines by the glass, generous pour!

had a great lunch. It was very busy but the server was so attentive and service was fast. They have a great menu and wine list. I had Chicken Picata (very lemony and so good)and a pasta side dish. The bread was warm and delicious. It is very pretty inside with linen table cloths and a real red rose on each table,

It took over an hour for our meals to be served. They were ridiculously small, over cooked portions, with no presentation. Out of the 10 guests at our table, only one person was mildly satisfied. The manager was ungracious and rude. I would never recommend this establishment .

There were 8 of us eating and a local had recommended this restaurant to us visitors! We had a main each and it was served with a nice fresh salad first. It was cosy and busy. We weren't there for a gourmet meal so can't complain. Service was fast and efficient. If travelling with a large group and wanted Italian... More

"The Chase" is an icon on State Street, been there forever, always busy. I sat next to Dennis Franz (NYPD Blue), once, before he moved to Idaho, and it's long been a watering hole for the well to do "slumming" on State. Personally, I think the place is over-rated, trading on its reputation. Service is average, the tables are crowded... More

Shared lunch at the bar, which is open to State Street...have been many times. We always order the Ceasar salad (simple and traditional with crisp lettuce)...best one in town, and the fish chowder (great tomato and oregano flavor). A split of champagne (Chandon) and an Anchor Steam on tap. $29 plus tip. Simple old fashioned Italian food.

Great lunch venue. The patio seating is fantastic for business or for an intimate lunch with a friend. Or just a solo lunch and people watch would keep you entertained as Santa Barbara moves about around you. Service is good, the staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about the food and the area. I had the chicken piccata and it... More
