Fantastic food, dated decor, indifferent service to non regulars.

This is my second time dining at Chase. Last summer I ate at their small patio. It was a lovely evening, the food was good as was the service. I decided to take my wife here on a chilly night. As it was so cold, the patio was closed. The inside was very dated. Lots of mirrors and leather... read more

The menu said fine dining, while the TV above the bar had a different story to tell. Was a bit cramped, and dinner seatings were close to the bar. Which at times was louder than preferred. I had a veal ravioli, the whole dish just had all the same texture. So might as well gotten a stew or a soup... More

We sat at the bar both times. We were hoping for the bartender who has been there 27 years? We were served by Bret. Efficient, tries to visit. We both had chicken piccata the first time. Great. They are known for it. The second time we had happy hour food. The cup of bean and onions are soooo good. We... More

We spotted it on a cold and rainy night in December when walking to the restaurant we had selected for dinner. Stuck our heads in and were charmed--perfectly decorated for Christmas and filled with happy campers. We decided to try in the next night . . . we should of had the wisdom to make a reservation. With no reservation... More

I've been eating at the Chase for over 30 years, and while it's had its ups and downs through management changes, some things can be relied on: The decorations at Christmas will make you feel magical. The calamari piccata will be the best you've ever eaten. The drinks will be strong and the bar will be slow. And most of... More

Went there after recommendation from locals. Was not disappointed .Staff was very welcoming and friendly. Had children the group and getting more bread for the table was not an issue. Food was good and the beer selection was adequate . If I am in SB again I will go back.

We were in town visiting family and we stayed an extra day to shop and relax. We went to Belmond El Encanto for a drink and the bartender recommended Chase Bar & Grill. We made a reservation through Open Table. When we got there we realized we had eaten there on a different trip for lunch and really enjoyed it... More

In the frequent and ever changing Santa Barbara restaurant scene Chase Bar and Grill has been a pillar of longevity in the downtown area. In years bygone you could count on the freshest ingredients where cost was presumably second. Ravioli stuffed with cheese and covered in a real Alfredo sauce with sweet butter and real cream sprinkled with freshly grated... More

This restaurant has a new lunch menu that has a lot of nice variety and is quite affordable. We had half a chicken Parmesan sandwich and salad on our last visit and it is a perfect portion for lunch. The bread was fresh, the chicken hot and perfectly cooked. I've been visiting this restaurant for more years than I care... More

Just found the place walking down State Street. Italian food, good. Sat at the bar and Tony was great, good advice on wine and food. Had the brussle sprouts app, Caesar salad, and lasagna, split them all and was more than enough food for two.
