A True Original

A tiny bit off the beaten track but well used by locals. This is no shiny chain type place - it's a true original. Tables around the bustling bar. Warm, friendly service from our waitress Kate. Good selection of draft beers. And real home style food. Perfect.

Unpretentious, outdoor seating, excellent craft beers and dog friendly. Isn't that enough? If not, the food is cheap and excellent, the Sunday Brunch is outstanding, and the staff is very friendly. With all the pretender restaurants in town, this is a real eat in' place and drink in' place.. GPS it and thank your stars when you find it!

We walked here from our motel. Nothing special, and service unfortunately was really, really slow. They were busy, but we sat at the bar where normally a bartender will serve you. They did not have one. I had the BLTA which was really good and my husband had a steak philly sandwich which he really liked. Next door there was... More

My husband loves brewpubs, but they often don't have much that I want to eat. This one has an excellent menu (including good wine by the glass with a generous pour). I had the vegetable plate which was really wonderful, lots of variety and everything fresh and crisp. My husband loved his mahi mahi sandwich. The ambience is neighborhood casual,... More

We ended up eating here three times; it was handy to our hotel, and had great food. Everything we ate was tasty; the lamb burger, fried chicken sandwich, chicken quesadillas, shepherd's pie, and according to my husband, great local beer. The only reason it got 4 instead of 5 stars, is that it is noisy and crowded. Apparently, a lot... More

We took a turn on Montecito...by chance...saw a sign...didn't know what to expect. Nothing fancy but a great local place a few blocks from the beach. Great locally made beer...friendly service...we hit right at happy hour...wow...great timing. If you are in town and hungry drop by. Appetizers...great...I had a turkey sand...excellent..we all had a great time...there were 5 adults...from 20s... More

We stayed three blocks from The Brewhouse and had our first dinner of the vacation there. Lively atmosphere with numerous TV's tuned into sports events. The service during a very busy period was excellent with waitstaff offering several suggestions on the best foods being served that evening. My wife and I took the suggestion of splitting the Fillet Enchilada plate... More

My wife and I came into town for a short stay and needed a spot for an easy dinner. We found the Brewhouse on line and it was also recommended by our hotel. A good spot for a casual dinner with good menu items and timely service. The restaurant was trendy, clean, and the wait staff attentive. The beer selection... More

I loved the Apricot Wheat! What a delicious selection of brews! I also had a half turkey sandwich with grilled onions and avocado and a salad with champagne vinaigrette, outstanding! This is kind of a dive and seems to be a favorite of the locals but the beers and food were surprisingly good! Slow service on a Wednesday afternoon but... More

Always good food. Great beers. Walking distance from beach, train, state street. Axxess cards valid only Monday through Friday but still good value.
