I've been going to Via Vai for many years. The quality is always top-notch, both dine-in and take-out. I don't know how it is so good, but their parmesan cheese is the best I've ever had. Add it to their amazing Italian-thin pizzas with fresh ingredients and perfectly cooked pastas and you have the purrfect Italian meal. I usually split... More

After a hard day, this is a terrific place to enjoy authentic Italian pizza....or other Italian foods... with good wine and beer. Friendly staff and cozy atmosphere.

This is one busy restaurant with waiting staff coming and going in all direction. This is a favourite restaurant of our friends who live in the area. We ordered the Cotto E Funghi (mushroom & ham) pizza and it was good. The pizza crust was thin as a cracker. I don't think I've ever had a pizza crust this thin.... More

This is a well-known local Italian restaurant, cheap by Santa Barbara standards and serving wholesome Italian staples. What's not to like? Food-wise, not much, it all works. But the restaurant and outside tables are both freezing cold in winter and the service is chaotic and pretty hit and miss. It's always busy so I can't even suggest going when it's... More

Via Vai, which is the sister restaurant to Pane e Vino, has great food, although the risotto is not as good as Pane e Vino. On the other hand their grilled vegetables are grilled for you and haven't been sitting limply around waiting for you. Their pizza is terrific and so are their daily specials. The outdoor area is very... More

The pizza we had was excellent as was the salad and the bread served before our meal. Being Halloween the place was busy and the service a little slow. Outside has heaters so it doesn't get too cold.

The food was excellent for the most part. The calamari were not deep fried long enough to have a deep color and so arrived looking anemic, but they tasted ok. The roast chicken was done to perfection and served with fresh vegetables. My partner wanted an Alfredo, which was not on the menu, but they were happy to accommodate him.... More

My husband and I stopped in for a light snack. (we had been caught in traffic for over 2 hours). The staff greeted us warmly, told us to choose wherever we wished to be seated. Bread came immediately and the server brought the wine soon after. Oil is slightly flavored with garlic. We ordered a frittata with spinach and mushrooms.... More

This little restaurant feels so much like Italy to me for some reason! They have some of the best pizza in Santa Barbara hands down! When I go I always choose to sit outside on the patio bc for whatever reason it makes me feel like I'm in Italy again (even tho it's just basically in a little strip mall... More
