Visiting from CT and have the god fortune of having some outstanding sushi restaurants in the area (outside of Hartford). The establishment was simple and not what one would expect in SB. The matron was in inviting... Kind of like something out of Sullivan & Son. The table had a stickiness to it which was a turn off. Presentation and... More

I've been here for Sushi a number of times, and keep coming back for more. There are a number of great Sushi restaurants in Santa Barbara, but I think Ichiban still comes out as the top one. Everything has always been of great quality, the service is impeccable, the prices are more than affordable. Most of the guests are regulars... More

We enjoyed the sushi of this restaurant where there was a lot of Japanese people eating what I consider is a good sign. My recomendatio is that you try the ships, they are not very expensive and you can try a little bit of all the sushi they have.

I can say by far ICHIBANis the best Sushi house in Santa Barbara. They have the friendliest staff and the new owner Min is on hand to make your experience memorable. Why go anywhere else? :)

We went to ichiban for dinner few days ago. We had a daiginzoo sake and kirin beer on tap for great deal. The chefs and all of servers are very friendly. We will go back to ichiban ,get a 007 roll and box roll again.

Great atmosphere, quaint little spot in a great location. Nothing particularly awesome about the food. It was good, not amazing. Standard sushi menu with loads of other options for those non-sushi guests.

Usually top quality sushi, relatively large portions, with friendly chefs and wait staff. Not as high of levels of presentation or menu creativity as the highest end (expensive) sushi restaurant in the region, but always solid quality and good portions at modest prices.
