What an experience

Santa Barbara has a wealth of good places to eat. Galanga isn't one of them. Thai food, in my experience, offers some of the most subtle and sophisticated flavors to be had, and all of them were missing from my spicy fried rice dinner this evening. The meal was served lukewarm, the rice gelatinous... read more

My wife and I were so pleased with their food, we were glad we each got a dish. In theory, they were going to be doggy bagged as leftovers. But it was so good, only she had saved some for later. Yum!

Santa Barbara has a ton of food options but wanted something lite and take out this time, so walked up to Galanga Thai. Ordered pork dumplings that were steamed and came with a dipping sauce. They did not have a lot of flavor but the sauce made up for it. For main course I ordered Spicy Mint Noodles with mixed... More

Four of us recently ate dinner at Galanga Thai. We had talked about thai food all day and were so excited to get it. We all agreed that it was a little bland and that the egg rolls were the best part. The service was a little slow and all our food arrived at varied times which was strange. I... More

I came here for lunch on a Sunday afternoon while on my business trip in Santa Barbara. The setting inside the restaurant is nice with a few decors throughout the restaurant. The server was pleasant and attentive, friendly, and always checked up on me. I had their Chicken Fried Rice and Thai Iced Tea. The fried rice was fresh and... More

Coming from Melbourne, Australia, there's a vast selection of multicultural foods, including Thai. I'm extremely picky when it comes to phad thai noodles and I must say that the phad thai I tried was spot on! It wasnt too oily and more importantly not too dry, just perfect! The service was prompt, the man (maybe the owner?) was very polite... More

Solid Thai food. Waiter (owner?) was very kind and service was good. Location great, especially if you can get a table at the window. We had Tom Kha Kai which was very good, nice spice level. For dinner had Pad Thai and Green Curry, both good.

Ideally located in the prime State Street, but I wouldn't enjoy a sit down. The food however bought as take out on several occasions is very tasty, authentic thai food. Better than anything I have eaten in London and very well worth going back for. The staff is friendly, welcoming and the service is prompt and efficient.

I grew up in Washington DC - a mecca of international, multi-cultural food - and in more recent years spent eight of them living in San Francisco -- another super duper foodie town. I'm as white as the day is long but have a mad passion for Asian fare and SF is notorious for hosting some of the best restaurants... More
