The shellfish company is the last restaurante on the tip of sta barbara wharf. they have amazing sea food all around, with highlights to the spider crab that waitress brings for meet and greet before serving.

We make are way to Santa Barbara once a year and always stop here for at least one meal. Food was great and service was top notch. We always try and sit at front counter to watch the cooks at work.

One the best seafood places I've visited. The atmosphere just screams seafood, ultra fresh seafood as they have live tanks of sea life that was just caught off the pier! I even got to hold a spider crab before it became lunch, super friendly staff and even better food! We had the lobster and seafood platter with a mixture of... More

We went with the family (5) but the first problem was seating. Not their fault but there are no tables here. You just sit at the counter although there are a couple of tables outside but the view isn't that good. Get there early as you put your name down and then wait - not good IMO if there are... More

If you want a quiet, relaxing dinner, this isn't the place. You put your name on a board by the door and when you're called, you'll be seated either at the bar looking into the kitchen or at the bar along the window. They really have the process down, and move folks along amazingly well. They always seem to be... More

We've enjoyed fish shacks up and down the East coast, but they are harder to find in CA. During a recent visit to Santa Barbara, I made sure that the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company ranked high on our agenda. We weren't disappointed; it had all of the elements of a true fish shack down. Given that it's small, we had... More

It wasn't quite what I expected but I liked what was there. If you need tables (and tablecloths) go somewhere else. It's bar-seating inside and along the walls/windows. It's not very big inside, either. But the crabs were delicious and reasonably priced. Service good for a busy eatery. If we go back, we'll buy one of the 10 pound spider... More

We were drawn in by the Huge live crabs and lobsters displayed in tanks in the window. Irresistable! When you walk us you'll be discouraged by the number of people waiting buts it's also encouraging as it must be good and worth the wait which it was! you sign up on a list outside and wait for the call. It's... More

When I'm in New England I prefer to have my seafood in lobster pounds and clam shacks over fancy restaurants. That is why following TripAdvisor reviews and pictures, I headed to the Shellfish Company in Santa Barbara. The restaurant is limited in menu (name tells the story) and space (counter seating only inside, picnic tables outside). We sat at the... More

Really good seafood for lunch. Clam chowder. Lobster. Crabs. The only thing bad is that a pretty small joint. Lots of outside tables but no shades.
