My husband and I are foodies, always looking for fancy, experimental cuisines, but my parents are true meat-and-potatoes, traditional eaters. Bouchon was a delightful medium. Though the plates sounded fancy,... More

Having never visited Santa Barbara before, we took our innkeeper's advice and chose Bouchon for dinner. It was perfect. Super high quality food, very generous servings. The wine pairings were excellent as was the service. I can highly recommend this place.

The food was outstanding and the wait staff did a great job of pairing our wine with our dishes. This is a spendy restaurant but well worth it for a special occasion.

Outstanding local food, excellent wine, knowledgeable and friendly waitstaff, excellent service -- a must go when in Santa Barbra. Restaurant is easy to find, great ambience, and very friendly staff. Felt very welcomed when we first walked. Our dessert took a little longer and the waiter knew it was taking longer than it should; he was on top of it... More

The category states French but the farm to table menu is amazing. The food is excellent, desserts are scrumptious and the wine is local and paired well. Adorable and rustic ambiance. The service is excellent as well. Highly recommend.

We had dinner at Bouchon on our last night in Santa Barbara. Our server recommended a Tantara Rio Vista Pinot Noir which was delicious - like velvet in a glass! We started with the seared foie gras which we shared....both of us opted to build our dinner from the starters - French onion soup and lobster pot pie for my... More

Food was perfectly prepared. Started with the scallop trio appetizer, which was delicious. Hubby's duck entree had a nice smoky flavor and was moist. My local whitefish was crispy outside and moist inside. The only disappointment was dessert. The almond cake was dense, heavy and too sweet.

My wife and I dined here with friends for my birthday. Upon arrival, we were promptly shown to our table on the patio, which is very cozy and well decorated. The food and wine were excellent. The service was very attentive and I would have to rate it better than Toma's, which I found to be overcrowded and just ok.

We had dinner here twice in the past week, and both meals were very good to excellent. Suggested wine pairings with each dish were not always obvious, but delicious. The wait staff and management were extremely helpful, and went out of their way to make sure we were happy. I'd suggest focusing on lighter cuisine (salads, scallops, crab cakes, fish).
