Lunch or dinner, Louie's never disappoints. The food is very good, and the bread is "worth it!" Perhaps the best served bread alongside a meal that I've ever had. I love the lunch salmon--it is one of my favorites. The seafood is fresh, and I've never had a disappointing meal.

We had lunch there. The soup was great but the salads were run of the mill. I would like to try dinner there sometime tough. Menu looked great.

I just had lunch at this charming place in a 1871 Victorian - it has a wonderful wrap around porch and is part of the charming hotel. The special lunch was great, service perfect and beautiful space. It was quite and allowed us to have a long, conversation while enjoying the food and service. I would go back to try... More

So many restaurant choices in Santa Barbara but after looking at the menu and wine list, we opted for Louie's. So glad we did. Had a great meal which included a delicious pinot and excellent service. Outside and inside seating, both very nice.

While not exactly a celestial culinary experience, the food is very good and is carefully prepared. The wines are beautifully chosen and their prices quite reasonable (they always have the house favorites, and the rest of the list rotates). Service is extra-friendly. Regular visitors and locals love coming here to take a table in the porch, eat well, enjoy the... More

We have enjoyed many restaurants for lunch and dinner in Santa Barbara, but never Louie's California Bistro in the Upham Hotel. We decided to try it and we were not disappointed. We had a beautiful day and decided to eat outside on the porch. Mark was our server and he suggested several dishes. We ordered "Chicken in Puff Pastry", and... More

I love this place! It is great unpretentious Cali cuisine. Thou they only serve beer and wine it sill carries a in a French cafe feel. All of the menu is tasty and we'll thought out. The servers are attentive and will be at your service the moment you are sat. There is outdoor seating, with heaters so you can... More

I took the advice of the waiter and found a terrific local pinot and the next day we drove over the hill to buy a case. What a find.

Louie's is a small but nice restaurant. Sunday PM it was very busy wit no extra tables, so there are a lot of regulars. The menu was impressive as there were a lot of items I'd like to go back and try! I had the grilled meat loaf on a lark and it was very good.

We enjoyed a fork-tender, full flavored beef tenderloin that was prepared as requested. The service, wine, and ambience were very nice making for a lovely evening.
