Louie's restaurant is located in the ground floor of the Upham Hotel, one of Santa Barbara's oldest hotel. The hotel itself is a classic Victorian placed on ample grounds near the downtown area. Louie's takes full advantage of the location. The food is solid, if not spectacular, the service is friendly and prompt, and the pricing is fair. Wine list is... More

Louie's is a terrific jumping off point for a New Year's Eve celebration that is distinctly Santa Barbara. Book an early reservation and relax over a quiet dinner tucked into a cozy nook at Louie's located on the ground floor of the Upham Hotel. After dinner walk, yes walk a couple blocks to the beautifully restored Grenada Theater for the... More

Louie's is a great little spot. It has a nice, cozy vibe that is different from the beach places. We sat on the porch, which is nicely laid out, had warmers, and was decorated for the holidays. We arrived when they opened for lunch at 11:30. Service was prompt and attentive. Their chicken and romaine salad was great. Louie's is... More

We had a delicious appetizer with shrimp, avocado, and salsa. Followed by a yummy entree of angel hair pasta with sole. Highly recommend this place for a quiet, not real expensive meal just a few blocks off State Street.

We hosted 43 friends and family for a wedding rehearsal dinner at Louie's, the day after Thanksgiving. It couldn't have been better. The service, the food and the attention to detail was simply wonderful. From the minute we called to make our initial inquiries, I knew we had found 'the spot'. Communication was tops and menu planning was seamless, accommodating... More

Charming veranda-dining at this Victorian favorite in Santa Barbara. Was with a good friend who had his dog with him. Who knew that you could dine at such a fine establishment and bring your pup along? Awesome service.

Food & service were excellent at this restaurant. My wife and I had a wonderful anniversary dinner here. Sat on the covered porch and had a great meal.

Lunch or dinner, Louie's never disappoints. The food is very good, and the bread is "worth it!" Perhaps the best served bread alongside a meal that I've ever had. I love the lunch salmon--it is one of my favorites. The seafood is fresh, and I've never had a disappointing meal.

We had lunch there. The soup was great but the salads were run of the mill. I would like to try dinner there sometime tough. Menu looked great.

I just had lunch at this charming place in a 1871 Victorian - it has a wonderful wrap around porch and is part of the charming hotel. The special lunch was great, service perfect and beautiful space. It was quite and allowed us to have a long, conversation while enjoying the food and service. I would go back to try... More
