Description: Established in 1985, The Palace Grill is a Santa Barbara landmark restaurant featuring authentic New Orleans-inspired cuisine and a fun, lively atmosphere. Winner of The Santa Barbara's Independent Reader's Poll for "Best Restaurant Service". Located in Santa Barbara's charming Old Town district, The Palace Grill has something for everyone. Our menu features a wide range of contemporary American Grill items with a focus on authentic Southern and Louisiana specialties such as Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, New Orleans Bar-B-Que Shrimp, Blackened Filet Mignon, and delicious daily "Menu Additions". In addition we have a number of exciting Caribbean dishes and a line of Creole-Italian pastas. To insure that we remain authentic, the Palace routinely flies its staff to New Orleans to experience first-hand the magical quality of the city that has inspired the spirit of the Palace Grill. The Palace has been featured in dozens of national publications including Gourmet(R) Magazine, Bon Appetit(R) and USA TODAY(R). Throughout the years, The Palace has also been a favorite of culinary legends (including chef Julia Child and chef Wolfgang Puck) and has served its cuisine to countless global dignitaries - including 5 U. S. Presidents. At the Palace Grill, everyone shares one goal: to give our guests the most extraordinary dining experience possible: every time they visit. Besides our wonderful cuisine, The Palace is known for it's unique style of "Team Service" (which the Nation's Restaurant News called "an idea whose time has come") and our nostalgic nightly staff and guest Sing-A-Long to Louis Armstrong's iconic song - "What A Wonderful World." Come join the celebration known as "The Palace Grill Experience."

We planned our cruise so that we could stop in Santa Barbara just to eat lunch here again. We consider ourselves infrequent regulars because we live in NorCal. Once again, we were in Cajun heaven. Had the Cajun Martini (dirty) -- superb! Crawfish crab cake -- out of this world. BBQ shrimp -- could drown happily in the sauce. Crawfish... More

It's always a good sign when you arrive at a restaurant at 6.30 and it's full on a Wednesday night. We choose the Jambalaya and crab cakes. The crab cakes were unbelievably yummy and would thoroughly recommend. The Jambalaya was spicy but having swapped our dinners, I felt that my crab cakes were a better choice. The Jambalaya needed more... More

I'm happy to hear you loved our crab cakes so much -- they're a favorite of mine too! Great idea swapping plates to try the Jambalaya, even if you preferred those yummy crab cakes. We love getting our guests to singalong with us, and I'm glad you were able to relax and join in, even if it did seem corny... More

We found this place and it was very good. Portions are good. I needed just plain pasta with a sauce and they did that too. Dessert was a dark chocolate souffle. The waiter will ask when you order if you would like one, since they take 40 minutes to bake so decide to indulge and go for it.

The staff is very friendly, the atmosphere is wonderful and the food is amazing! We love this place! Street musicians playing on the sidewalk outside when we were there, added to the New Orleans vibe. We were seated quickly and our food and drinks came quickly. Reservations reccomended. This restaurant fills up fast and stays that way so you may... More

Food was ok, not as amazing as I was expecting from the rave reviews I have seen of this place. Staff/service was friendly, however we felt we were rushed through our meal (45 minutes from arriving to leaving). My plate was cleared whilst my partner was still eating and the bill was brought out with dessert. Also didn't really experience... More

I'm glad to hear our staff was friendly and made you feel welcome, but you definitely shouldn't have felt rushed to finish your meal. Going out to dinner should always be relaxing, and I sincerely apologize that you and your partner had your bill brought to you before you were ready to call it a night. I know our food... More

Great, friendly service, together with a unique menu. Lunches are reasonably-priced for Santa Barbara, and include delicious New Orleans favorites, from the simple red beans and rice, to jambalaya, crayfish etouffe, gumbo, and more.

We had a great dinner here in early August 2014. The food was fresh, delicious and provided in huge quantities. Service was, across the board, fabulous! Great kids menu. My son had a small fillet mignon for around $10. Loved, loved the crawfish pasta lafitte. The sauce was to die for. Others at our table enjoyed fish, and chicken. We... More

We picked up that restaurant by walking in the city center looking for a good place on a Sunday night. We were very positively surprised I general. Service was very good but we have been very impressed with the food that I believe was not that far from my experience of 1 start restaurants at Michelin in France. My lamb... More
