Established in 1985, The Palace Grill is a Santa Barbara landmark restaurant featuring authentic New Orleans-inspired cuisine and a fun, lively atmosphere. Winner of The Santa Barbara's Independent Reader's Poll for "Best Restaurant Service". Located in Santa Barbara's charming Old Town district, The Palace Grill has something for everyone. Our menu features a wide range of contemporary American Grill items with a focus on authentic Southern and Louisiana specialties such as Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, New Orleans Bar-B-Que Shrimp, Blackened Filet Mignon, and delicious daily "Menu Additions". In addition we have a number of exciting Caribbean dishes and a line of Creole-Italian pastas. The Palace has been featured in dozens of national publications including Gourmet(R) Magazine, Bon Appetit(R) and USA TODAY(R). Throughout the years, The Palace has also been a favorite of culinary legends (including chef Julia Child and chef Wolfgang Puck) and has served its cuisine to countless global dignitaries - including 5 U. S. Presidents. At the Palace Grill, everyone shares one goal: to give our guests the most extraordinary dining experience possible: every time they visit. Besides our wonderful cuisine, The Palace is known for it's unique style of "Team Service" (which the Nation's Restaurant News called "an idea whose time has come") and our nostalgic nightly staff and guest Sing-A-Long to Louis Armstrong's iconic song - "What A Wonderful World." it didn't live up to all of the hype. Would rather eat at Cajun Kitchen where you get a lot of flavor at a reasonable price.

We visited for lunch on Monday. Service was great, as usual, food was delicious. My only comment was that the popcorn crawfish appetizer batter wasn't very crispy and neither was the chicken on the salad. When the restaurant gets busy it can be hard to hear but that happens at a lot of restaurants. This restaurant is a must visit... More

A very fun place with incredible NO dishes. We had an issue with one of our dishes due to carelessness in the kitchen; the management response was very apologetic and accommodating. Highly recommend.

We have eaten at the Palace many times. As a couple, with a few friends and even when large groups are visiting. It is always wonderful. The food is consistently good. The muffins that they bring to the table (instead of a bread basket are delicious), my husband and I usually share a cajun martini and have enjoyed mains from... More

We stayed in the Hotel Santa Barbara Hotel nearby. No reservations but, not too long a wait to find a table. Friendly front of house staff and we were set for an enjoyable evening. An easy choice to try the House Special of a stuffed steak. It didn't disappoint. 😊 Just wait for the music to start and there's another... More

The Palace came recommended. Very fun as well as NOLA inspired food which we love . We didn't have reservations and the restaurant was very crowded. There was no bar/waiting area so we had to go down the street for a drink while we waited for our table. I left my husband at the bar and walked back to the... More

I had the crab cakes, they were good, the sauce had a little heat, which was nice. The little muffins they bring to the table are a fun activity while you wait for your food to arrive. We ordered the bread pudding at the beginning and it was also excellent.

We decided to visit the palace based on the reviews we had read about i.e. Good food, lively atmosphere, music etc. It was fairly quiet on arrival and remained so till we left. My wife ordered chicken and pasta which was fine, and I ordered the jambalaya which tasted ok but did not resemble any previous jambalayas I had ever... More

This is deeply concerning, Roger, as this sounds nothing like the jambalaya you ought to be getting. All of our jambalaya includes sausage and rice (or pasta), but it sounds like something went wrong in the preparation of your meal. I hope that you'll give us another shot, as I know we can get you the delicious meal you were... More

I've been going to this restaurant for years, and am never disappointed. The management and staff are top notch, and are very attentive to the customer.
