Description: Established in 1985, The Palace Grill is a Santa Barbara landmark...
Established in 1985, The Palace Grill is a Santa Barbara landmark restaurant featuring authentic New Orleans-inspired cuisine and a fun, lively atmosphere. Winner of The Santa Barbara's Independent Reader's Poll for "Best Restaurant Service". Located in Santa Barbara's charming Old Town district, The Palace Grill has something for everyone. Our menu features a wide range of contemporary American Grill items with a focus on authentic Southern and Louisiana specialties such as Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, New Orleans Bar-B-Que Shrimp, Blackened Filet Mignon, and delicious daily "Menu Additions". In addition we have a number of exciting Caribbean dishes and a line of Creole-Italian pastas. To insure that we remain authentic, the Palace routinely flies its staff to New Orleans to experience first-hand the magical quality of the city that has inspired the spirit of the Palace Grill. The Palace has been featured in dozens of national publications including Gourmet(R) Magazine, Bon Appetit(R) and USA TODAY(R). Throughout the years, The Palace has also been a favorite of culinary legends (including chef Julia Child and chef Wolfgang Puck) and has served its cuisine to countless global dignitaries - including 5 U. S. Presidents. At the Palace Grill, everyone shares one goal: to give our guests the most extraordinary dining experience possible: every time they visit. Besides our wonderful cuisine, The Palace is known for it's unique style of "Team Service" (which the Nation's Restaurant News called "an idea whose time has come") and our nostalgic nightly staff and guest Sing-A-Long to Louis Armstrong's iconic song - "What A Wonderful World." Come join the celebration known as "The Palace Grill Experience."

Had a delightful dinner and Fat Tuesday Mardi Gras celebration here last night. A special menu for today with lots of NOLA decorations, music, and positive vibes. Our family ate here friday night on our trip to Santa Barbara. We all had something different so we could share. The food was delicious! I had the etoufee, which was good and spicy. My daughter had the gumbo, husband had the lamb which were all very good and not overpriced. The only reason this is not a 5 is... More

We were here on our honeymoon fifteen years ago and have returned. Parking is still on the street, but not too bad. We made reservations, but did not really need them on a weekday night. We were seated immediately and were given our menus and an assortment of mini-muffins. Not being extremely hungry we chose three appetizer plates to share.... More

In somewhat plain surroundings (but with cloth tabletops),we enjoyed a catfish and a jambalaya for lunch. Both were perfectly cooked, with prime ingredients, and simple seasoning. This was enjoyable food with home-cooked flavour, not fancy with subtle seasoning. Portions were generous but not large, perfect for lunch. Good Cajun food.

I have been eating at The Palace each time I visit Santa Barbara for the past 15 years. The Cajun cuisine is delicious! I love the craw fish poppers as an appetizer and the bread pudding for dessert. Each entree I have tried has been delicious. They have little muffins in all different flavors that they bring out at the... More

Taco bell versus The Palace. After a lecture at he Santa Barbara Historical Society, my husband asked me where I would like to go for dinner. I work locally at the courthouse and have gone to the Palace many times for lunch with colleagues. The food is great and Errol has always been pleasant. Last Saturday for lunch I arrived at 1:30 for lunch with a large group of family members to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. I misread the website information for weekend lunchtime reservations... More

I'm disheartened to read your review because this isn't at all how we want to treat our guests when they choose to dine with us. I sincerely apologize for the way we handled the situation when you and your party stopped by for lunch. Reservations are preferred, since we do get very busy, but it's still no excuse for not... I know this place has been there a long time, but there's a reason - it still completely rocks! Killer Cajun martinis and popcorn. Best redfish outside Nola (truly compares) and oh my, that bread pudding. Enjoy!
