Description: Established in 1985, The Palace Grill is a Santa Barbara landmark restaurant featuring authentic New Orleans-inspired cuisine and a fun, lively atmosphere. Winner of The Santa Barbara's Independent Reader's Poll for "Best Restaurant Service". Located in Santa Barbara's charming Old Town district, The Palace Grill has something for everyone. Our menu features a wide range of contemporary American Grill items with a focus on authentic Southern and Louisiana specialties such as Jambalaya, Crawfish Etouffee, New Orleans Bar-B-Que Shrimp, Blackened Filet Mignon, and delicious daily "Menu Additions". In addition we have a number of exciting Caribbean dishes and a line of Creole-Italian pastas. To insure that we remain authentic, the Palace routinely flies its staff to New Orleans to experience first-hand the magical quality of the city that has inspired the spirit of the Palace Grill. The Palace has been featured in dozens of national publications including Gourmet(R) Magazine, Bon Appetit(R) and USA TODAY(R). Throughout the years, The Palace has also been a favorite of culinary legends (including chef Julia Child and chef Wolfgang Puck) and has served its cuisine to countless global dignitaries - including 5 U. S. Presidents. At the Palace Grill, everyone shares one goal: to give our guests the most extraordinary dining experience possible: every time they visit. Besides our wonderful cuisine, The Palace is known for it's unique style of "Team Service" (which the Nation's Restaurant News called "an idea whose time has come") and our nostalgic nightly staff and guest Sing-A-Long to Louis Armstrong's iconic song - "What A Wonderful World." Come join the celebration known as "The Palace Grill Experience."

The first time we had dinner at The Palace Grill was on Fat Tuesday one year. We have not forgotten that wonderful experience and love to come here the rare times we are in Santa Barbara. Today was also a great meal. I had seafood gumbo as a starter, and Creole Crawfish Crabcakes for my main dish. I loved them... More

Clare & I decided to celebrate our 62nd Anniversary at the Palace Grill. We called Errol(General Manager) and requested our special and he was eager to oblige us. The service was special as usual. Errol brought a couple of samples of his new improved Chicken Gumbo. It was lovely and had a kick to it. Michael (Owner) came over to... More

I have to be honest and admit that we ate at Commander's Palace in NOLA a short month before eating at The Palace Grill, so our sights might be set unreasonably high. Our first point of contact with The Palace Grill was arriving early on a Saturday night for dinner and learning that reservations are essentially mandatory to get seated.... More

A great cajun -creole restaurant. Had pasta w/crawfish tails and awesome tomato based sauce. Quenched w/The Dean Martini which comes with a small martini glass and a pint jar with your martini on ice and a strainer fills the glass up at least 3 times that I remember.(1 per customer) Definitely will go back when in town .

We were looking for something different. We found it. Not only different cuisine but ambiance, wait staff and decor. We enjoyed it all. Well worth it and we would go back.

Dinner at The Palace is an experience. Yes, the food is delicious; no matter what anyone we take there orders, they love it. I've finally smartened up and asked to take the mini muffins they serve instead of bread home with me (assuming we leave any to take ;) Great drinks, fab desserts and a standout New Orleans meal in... The Palace has been around forever, and there's a good reason -- the food is consistently very good and the service is always top notch. Good choice for just about any occasion, lunch or dinner, whether you're out with family, with a group, or out on a first date, it's really hard to go wrong with the Palace.

It's loud. It's rambunctious. It's entertaining just being there. AND the food is delicious! Adult beverages are generous, and if the children are with you they'll enjoy it too because they don't have to use a 'quiet voice!' It's like a crazy party with great food. Sidewalk performers often help with the wait if you're not in line early.

Palace Grill is such a fun place to have dinner. The food is very good, the service is excellent and the atmosphere is fun. Definitely a unique experience that I would recommend. If you are not a huge seafood fan like me, don't let it keep you from trying. There are other options. My husband and I had one of... More

Love this place. I've lived in SB for 12 years and this is my favorite spot to go. Everything on the menu is good; especially the jambalaya. Great bread pudding for dessert too. On top of it all the atmosphere is like nothing else in SB.
