The Palace has been featured in dozens of national publications including Gourmet(R) Magazine, Bon Appetit(R) and USA TODAY(R). Throughout the years, The Palace has also been a favorite of culinary legends (including chef Julia Child and chef Wolfgang Puck) and has served its cuisine to countless global dignitaries - including 5 U. S. Presidents. At the Palace Grill, everyone shares one goal: to give our guests the most extraordinary dining experience possible: every time they visit. Besides our wonderful cuisine, The Palace is known for it's unique style of "Team Service" (which the Nation's Restaurant News called "an idea whose time has come") and our nostalgic nightly staff and guest Sing-A-Long to Louis Armstrong's iconic song - "What A Wonderful World." Come join the celebration known as "The Palace Grill Experience."

I loved the atmosphere. The service was great. I loved the singing. I am afraid the food just wasn't up my street. I do like spicy food but we found everything to be far too sweet for our tastes. We had the sample platter as we had not really had cajun food before (apart from cajun chicken) and we only... More

I'm glad you loved the atmosphere and the sing along at our place! Although I am a little disappointed, like you, that you weren't impressed with our Cajun cuisine. I do think if you wanted something a little spicier, our jambalaya might've been up your street. Perhaps next time you can try that! I appreciate your honesty though, and thank... More

Just returned from The Palace for a fun birthday celebration. This is always our "go-to" restaurant for a fun time and great food and service. From the minute we were greeted at the front door by Errol until we left, completely sated, everything was perfect. We started with the Cajun Crawfish Popcorn and then tried the Oysters Palace - baked... More

I'm so happy to hear you had a great time and a wonderful birthday celebrating at our place! Good advice about leaving room for dessert -- the Louisiana bread pudding souffle is definitely something worth saving room for! Thank you for the great review, and the compliments on our team work. Hope we'll see you soon for another celebration! All... More

A favorite of many Santa Barbarans-- reservations recommended. Food is consistently wonderful and typical Creole with lots of seafood. Spice ranges from mild to mouth burning, so ask if in doubt.

We like to spice things up at our place, it's true -- sounds like you enjoyed our spicy Creole cuisine though, Elizabeth! I'm happy to hear you love our fresh seafood, and I hope you'll visit us again to try more of our ragin' Cajun food. Thank you for the review! All the best, Errol, Manager More

The ratings on YELP where so high, I expected an unforgettable meal, and it was just ok. Don't expect a quiet dinner here or spacious rooms. The place is CRAMPED with tables just a foot from one another, and it is very very loud. Waiters kept brushing past me between the tables, it is that croeded. Having so many good... More

I think it's great you were able to find us through the recommendations of others on Yelp -- I know this may have raised your expectations too. My husband and I went to The Palace Grill as a special meal to finish off our west coast road trip. We were recommended it by my brother who lives in LA and had been there for dinner a few years before and loved it. We were not disappointed! We had the sampler platter and it was absolutely delicious. A... More

We planned our cruise so that we could stop in Santa Barbara just to eat lunch here again. We consider ourselves infrequent regulars because we live in NorCal. Once again, we were in Cajun heaven. Had the Cajun Martini (dirty) -- superb! Crawfish crab cake -- out of this world. BBQ shrimp -- could drown happily in the sauce. Crawfish... More

I cannot tell you how happy this review has made me -- from the words "Cajun heaven," to the phrase "drown happily in the sauce." I'm glad our staff gave you that care package of muffins on your way out because someone who appreciates our food as much as you do deserves it! Thank you so much for this review.... More

It's always a good sign when you arrive at a restaurant at 6.30 and it's full on a Wednesday night. We choose the Jambalaya and crab cakes. The crab cakes were unbelievably yummy and would thoroughly recommend. The Jambalaya was spicy but having swapped our dinners, I felt that my crab cakes were a better choice. The Jambalaya needed more... More

I'm happy to hear you loved our crab cakes so much -- they're a favorite of mine too! Great idea swapping plates to try the Jambalaya, even if you preferred those yummy crab cakes. We found this place and it was very good. Portions are good. I needed just plain pasta with a sauce and they did that too. Dessert was a dark chocolate souffle. The waiter will ask when you order if you would like one, since they take 40 minutes to bake so decide to indulge and go for it.

Food was ok, not as amazing as I was expecting from the rave reviews I have seen of this place.
