Taco bell versus The Palace. After a lecture at he Santa Barbara Historical Society, my husband asked me where I would like to go for dinner. I said Taco bell would be fine, he said "How about the Palace? It was busy when we walked in as it's like that all the time. The hostess asked us where we would... More

It sounds like you made the right decision in coming to our place that day, and I couldn't be happier to hear you enjoyed your meal. The Sampler Platter is always great for sharing, and you finished it off with one of my favorite -- the bread pudding souffle! Thank you for this wonderful review. We hope we'll get a... More

I work locally at the courthouse and have gone to the Palace many times for lunch with colleagues. The food is great and Errol has always been pleasant. Last Saturday for lunch I arrived at 1:30 for lunch with a large group of family members to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. I misread the website information for weekend lunchtime reservations... More

I'm disheartened to read your review because this isn't at all how we want to treat our guests when they choose to dine with us. I sincerely apologize for the way we handled the situation when you and your party stopped by for lunch. Reservations are preferred, since we do get very busy, but it's still no excuse for not... I know this place has been there a long time, but there's a reason - it still completely rocks! Killer Cajun martinis and popcorn. Best redfish outside Nola (truly compares) and oh my, that bread pudding. Enjoy!

My wife and I, on our honeymoon spent one night in Santa Barbara and stopped into this place and had a brilliant time. We had the gumbo to start, followed by the Palace Sampler Platter, the stand outs for us being the gumbo and blackened catfish. The service was prompt, the beer selection was good and atmosphere was really nice.... More

Have been to the Palace numerous times over the years, this wasn't the same as always. I do have to say the service was slow once they filled the house by 7PM. Prices seem to have drifted up, especially liquor...$13 for Knob Creek on the rocks...ouch, soft shell crab...$30 One last comment, the noise level gets uncomfortable when the place... More
