Four of us enjoyed our $85 per person, three course prix-fixe New Years Eve dinner at the Wine Cask. But we were stunned when the check arrived, and we found they had charged us an additional $3.00 for a cup of decaf coffee and $4.00 for a cup of tea. This is a high-end, prix-fixe meal, and... read more

Our last visit to the Wine Cask was memorable-- wonderful food in a beautiful dining room. Our recent meal was very disappointing. The appetizers were delicious ( grilled octopus and duck rillette with foie gras) and it was downhill from there. They ran out of sea bass by 7:30 and served us wahoo which was dry and hard. Our shared... More

My husband & I had dinner on New Year's Eve before the Symphony & it was a wonderful evening. The Hostess was welcoming & our server (David) was truly exceptional. The food is "top chef" gourmet - farm to table, as well as the fish. Of course, you can't go wrong with the wine. The wine list is great, including... More

Great little spot tucked away off State St. Staff accommodated our late lunch. Filet Mignon enchiladas indescribably delicious and husband's chicken club was enormous!. Nice quiet spot with good wine list and great fireplace. Semvelrsl wine tasting rooms nearby and great shops including 33 Jewels.

We had attempted to get a reservation at Bouchon for Thanksgiving night but they were fully booked. As an alternative they recommend their sister restaurant Wine Cask. Our first impression was good, situated in a remarkable building with the most fabulous ceilings we really felt like we were going to have a great evening. As it was our first Thanksgiving... More

For my birthday my wife and I went to Wine Cask. I was trying to decide between the monkfish special or the pork chop. The waitress advised me that if I wanted something more substantial that I should go for the pork chop but I went for the monkfish since it was locally caught. Though it was cooked perfectly and... The room is very attractive, a great place for a romantic rendezvous or special occasion. The beautiful painted beams on the ceiling, the high ceilings and long drapes and the big fireplace as you walk in make you feel immediately special. There is a great wine list and an adorable , atmospheric bar ( Intermezzo, where you can hang out... More

We went for a light meal and the restaurant was perfect. A small cozy place, that feels more like someone's home than a restaurant. Cute bar with everything and of course wine. The service couldn't have been better and all the little dishes we tried were excellent. We had a couple of small plates to share...started with a salad, that... More

We had a fabulous dinner here for a rehearsal banquet. Usually banquet dinners are not that great, as there are so many people to serve. But this one was so good I can't wait to go back and try it as a regular restaurant. We had a choice of three items for first course, main course, and dessert. I had... More
