Went to cadario restaurant as my girlfriend took me to Santa baraba for my bday. As this was a surprise last minute trip, didnt have any dinner place in mind. Luckily we were walking up and down Victoria st, noted it was packed and decided to give it a try. I ordered the quail and my girl ordered risotto, both... More

After a disappointing dinner last night (restaurant choice based on too few TA reviews) we fell back on our traditional source - taxi drivers. This place is a true find. Traditional old school Italian like you've had before and there's nothing wrong with that. Some times it's nice not to have your food "with a twist" or with "a hint... More

It was late on this past Saturday night, we just got back from watching my son play at Kobe Camp in UCSB. It was close to 10pm but we hadn't had dinner yet and I refused to eat pizza in Isla Vista (no offense to Isla Vista). Pizza at 10p in a 50 year-old tummy is not comfy at 1am.... More

A very popular restaurant, it was also noisy. This is our friends' favourite Italian restaurant. We were not disappointed. We had ravioli to share as an appetizer. Very delicious. Then as mains, we had 2 pasta and 2 fish. I had the scampi ($30), a big lobster which I struggled to eat because the meat was a bit tough and... More

We had a great dinner here last night. They had a special of grilled oysters - awesome. Great sauce to dunk the bread in. The ravioli was delicious and the chicken in the clay pot is never a bad choice. The osso bucco was cooked to perfection. The service was perfect. We will return again and again.

The Pollo Coccio (chicken cooked with vegetables in an earthenware pot) is one of these very simple but very special dishes. I don't know much about the rest of the menu because that''s what I always end up ordering.... Wine list very thorough and prices reasonable.

My wife had eaten at Ca Dario and said it was great so my daughter and her friend and I eat there and I will say it was very interesting food. Had the prosciutto and melon appetizer, $14. It was good but the prosciutto had quite a bit of fat unlike most Parma that I have had. They both had... More

Great ambience for an Italian restaurant, 1st visit to Santa Barbara so don't know what others are in the vicinity, I think from experience of Italian fayre it is worth a try, food quality & service is very good, however, because our waiter was run off his feet & forgot 1 or 2 requests it did not spoil our evening... Took 12 to dinner there the other night and brought 6 bottles of expensive wine prepared to pay a corkage fee. At end of meal we had only consumed 3 and the waitress put 3 in the back for us to take home. I inadvertently left them there and called the restaurant to let them know. They said that it... More

A great small Italian restaurant with the look and feel of a neighborhood bistro or trattoria in Italy or France. Antipastos are great, pastas incomparable, and meat dishes fine, especially the rack of lamb. For lunch, their panini are excellent. The only quibble I have is that the place can be noisy at dinner time. We almost always go for... More
