Great Italian dinner with mostly locals

Just off the busy State Street, in a small, busy, friendly, first-rate Italian restaurant, three of us enjoyed Rib Eye steak, OssoBucco, and Veal Chop. While tables are small and close together, the atmosphere is fun, the service great, and the food a delight. Not a lot of tourists, which always... read more

Drool. Just thinking about this place makes me drool. Atmosphere is perfect for a data spot- very cozy, intimate and with good lighting. But the food...holy moly! I had a spicy ziti dish and it was extremely delicious. My boyfriend had the ravioli which I tried and almost had an out of body experience. Not even joking. I thought it... More

I can always count on Cadario for a really good pasta and fun atmosphere. Seemingly always bustling, this place is a locals favorite. The service is always on point. Not necessarily the best Italian food ever but it is always consistently very good. My favorite pasta dish is the spaghetti with clams. Classic Italian pasta, fresh and simple.

This is the best italian restaurant in the Santa Barbara area for food and service. The only downside is the close (extremely close!!) seating and the noise level of too many people in too small a space. Having said that, if you are a foodie, then the seating will not be as important as the great quality of the food.... More

Highlight of our dining experience in Santa Barbara area. Service was prompt and friendly, the bolognese was as good as any I've ever had in New York or Chicago. Parking was not nearly as much trouble as I'd been led to believe. Very cozy, romantic dining.

Every time I visit Santa Barbara, I alway try to visit Ca' Dario. It's a great local restaurant right down town SB. Because it's small and very popular, I found it always busy. The food and atmosphere are amazing. I will definitely will go there every time I'm in SB. Always a treat!

The staff was friendly and accommodating. The food was delicious and brought me back to Italy and the wonderful meals that we have had there. Wine was good too!

We were welcomed by the hostess and sat at a table for two. The restaurant is small and can be loud if crowded. It appeared to be a local rather than tourist crowd, with many of the guests knowing each other. We received bread at our table on arrival. It was hot, fresh and served with olive oil. We both... I don't know about you, but returning (again and again in this case) to a favorite eatery can put me into a skeptical frame of mind...enroute to the Ca' Dario NPR was broadcasting a story featuring a TED talk about the 'paradox of choices,' that too many choices can freak a person out. The secret, according to the TED dude,... More

We were impressed with the Yelp reviews, so decided to try this restaurant. The tables were TINY. They crammed 3 people at tables that were barely large enough to seat 2. We were bumping chairs with the table behind us. It was 5:15 in the afternoon, and the restaurant was only half full, so not sure why they felt the... More
