The pasta special--Italian sausage with porcini mushrooms was to die for. The sauce was just the right blend of acid and sweet. When I started I thought the plate was too large a potion but ended up wishing there was more. The cream of broccoli soup was the best I have had--the flavor was right out of the garden. The... More

Again, the folks at Spanish Garden Inn recommend this restaurant and it was another hit. On a corner a few blocks from State Street. it was small, a little crowded, with nice Italian restaurant atmosphere and really great Italian food both from the north and south of Italy. The wine list was interesting and reasonable. the service in spite of... More

Had my birthday dinner here with my family over Labor Day Weekend 2014, we've been dining here for 15 years. The restaurant completely messed up an order - it came after all other people were done eating AND we had to send it back since the Rib Eye was raw inside. When we asked them to remove the dish from... More

This is a small, intimate, unpretentious restaurant in the heart of downtown Santa Barbara which serves delicious homemade gourmet Italian food! Ca' Dario never disappoints!!!

The food is excellent. I had the lamb shanks and it literally falls off the bone and is accompanied by an equally delicious cherry sauce. The service was a little slow. Drinks came after the starters as they forgot and one of the starters had a missing ingredient as they ram out of avacado (not a huge problem, but they... More

Quick service without trying to hustle you out the door. Great food with ample portions. I had their Venetian bean soup which was excellent and the quail with porcini ragu which was wonderful. The place can get a bit crowded and noisy but we enjoyed it.

Went to cadario restaurant as my girlfriend took me to Santa baraba for my bday. As this was a surprise last minute trip, didnt have any dinner place in mind. Luckily we were walking up and down Victoria st, noted it was packed and decided to give it a try. I ordered the quail and my girl ordered risotto, both... More

After a disappointing dinner last night (restaurant choice based on too few TA reviews) we fell back on our traditional source - taxi drivers. This place is a true find. Traditional old school Italian like you've had before and there's nothing wrong with that. Some times it's nice not to have your food "with a twist" or with "a hint... More

It was late on this past Saturday night, we just got back from watching my son play at Kobe Camp in UCSB. It was close to 10pm but we hadn't had dinner yet and I refused to eat pizza in Isla Vista (no offense to Isla Vista). Pizza at 10p in a 50 year-old tummy is not comfy at 1am.... More

A very popular restaurant, it was also noisy. This is our friends' favourite Italian restaurant. We were not disappointed. We had ravioli to share as an appetizer. Very delicious. Then as mains, we had 2 pasta and 2 fish. I had the scampi ($30), a big lobster which I struggled to eat because the meat was a bit tough and... More
