Description: Stella Mare’s is a Santa Barbara local’s favorite for lunch, brunch and dinner. French country recipes are offered with fresh fish, meats and poultry cooked on our wood-burning grill. Stella Mare's is perhaps one of the best examples of Santa Barbara style. Located between Montecito and Santa Barbara, this charming restaurant is housed in a historic landmark Victorian home, overlooking the Bird Refuge. The decor is French Provincial meets Santa Barbara style. The glass Greenhouse, with stunning views of the Bird Refuge, has cozy sofas, a fireplace, and a full service bar. “I'm so fortunate all over the world to find places that are very good that I can recommend, but I do have a short list of absolute musts. If you come anywhere near Santa Barbara, this is a must - Stella Mare’s, first of all, is so casual and homey. It's beautiful to look at, very relaxed atmosphere, and secondly the food is fantastic!” - Rachael Ray, Rachael’s Vacation Show - Food Network A bientot!

We booked a private dining room at Stella's for our wedding reception. Everything about this place is special and awesome - the decor, the service, the location and the food. The cuisine is as mouth watering in the flesh as it is on your plate. We can't thank the staff at Stella's enough for making our special day that extra... More

Good food!!! The restaurant is decorated just as a normal livingroom back home, so the atmosphere were laidback an casual, but still french. Absolutely worth the trip!

We have been to Stella Mares on several occasions. When a business associate from the London office was in town, it seemed the perfect place for a business dinner. The food and service were, as usual, excellent. And don't forget the desserts - they are amazing! The atmosphere is serene and conducive to conversation. Highly recommend for quiet, romantic evenings... More

My husband and I had the loveliest meal here! He had the lamb chops and I had coq a vin and he said it was one of the best meals he had ever eaten! The setting in the lovely greenhouse with a fire in the fireplace makes for such a lovely ambience for a meal. It is so close to... More

Unless you go just to hear their jazz combo, don't go on Wednesday night. We didn't know about the music and found we couldn't hear, talk or enjoy our meal. The food was fabulous - cassoulet, moules, trout - all very delicious and very French, but we simply had to gulp down our food so we could leave. Not pleasant.

There are so many wonderful dining choices in Santa Barbara and we hoped that we could add this one to our list of favorites. The cuisine is French but watered-down French. The décor is a little too kitsch and the menu not quite what you would expect from a bistro. Too large, too bright and too Disneyland in the end.

We had a beautiful, lunch on the patio of this lovely restaurant in Santa Barbara. The food was delicious, the service excellent and the view made us feel like we were in the south of France.

Very well prepared food. We've visited several times and never had a bad meal. Most recently was with the Axxess book which got us a free entree. You really cannot go wrong, order whatever strikes your fancy

We enjoyed a fabulous meal here on the 4th July. It really was a haven after the biz of the town and beach. The peaceful atmosphere was just what we were looking for. The baked goats cheese was amongst the best starters I've tasted. The steaks were cooked exactly as we had asked for and an extensive wine list completed... More

Beer drinkers know the disappointment. The entrees look delicious, the wait staff are attentive, the ambience is nice. There are twenty good wine choices. The only two beer choices are Bud and something called “Old Gold Miner Brown Pale Ale Reserve” from someplace you’ve never heard of, exactly what knuckle dragging Neanderthals can quickly chug down. Maybe you’ll just have... More
