State Street is chock full of quality restaurants - but when you see a line 25 deep every evening at 5:20pm prior to a 5:30 opening - it is a pretty good hint that the restaurant is something special. Arigato not only has the most delectable fish and sushi presentation - but the attentive servers who present you with all... More

On all fronts: quality of fish, care of presentation, friendliness of sushi chefs and support staff--it doesn't get better in Santa Barbara.

Decent sushi place. I guess we expected too much based on the reviews. Being vegetarians we had a few options which were good.

Some of the best Sushi and Sashimi EVER. Can't say enough about the quality of the food. Highlights were the dragon roll, the edamame (we ordered a second helping!), shrimp wontons and the crowning glory - honey black sesame ice cream with strawberries.

I've been here several times and it's honestly among the best sushi I've ever had. Whenever I have friends visiting from Europe, I also bring them to this place and everybody (including me everytime) is impressed by the lovely service, the freshness of the fish and the great menu. It might seem a little on the pricey side, but trust... More

The quality of sashimi here is excellent and I love that they serve it with a large bowl of ice to keep it cold and fresh. However, comparing it to pictures of when we had our wedding reception here a year ago, it seems like the quantity has been decreased. The sushi rolls also seemed to have gotten smaller. Nonetheless,... More

How did my favorite restaurant in the world become the place I would not go unless there wasn't another restaurant in the world?? Seriously, Arigato has become TOO popular and is very crowded and noisy. They have stopped caring about the customer. Plus my tummy has not been happy since last night. (I will not say anything negative about the... More

First time I experienced Arigato "in their old location" they were just a small operation around the corner in Victoria Court with about 6-7 sushi bar spaces and about 5-6 tables. Even 15+ years ago their selection and freshness was exceptional. The Ikura or Salmon eggs they receive are specially treated and prepared by them in order to enhance your... More

We've recently been to Arigato two times in the last few weeks, and it never failed to impress. Raw fish dishes from sashimi to sushi are sparkling fresh with that fillip of creativity that separates the mundane from the special. Their scallops in blackened butter? Great! Actually, I like it even better than Sakana because of the options for non-sushi... More

Went here for dinner with three adults. Ordered many kinds of sushi and sashimi. All were wonderful. Friendly staff and quick service. Pricing was very reasonable as well for three adults.
