Great sushi, great service, great location

The first time I visited Arigato was in September of 2012. The food was great then and it is still great three years and many more dinners later. The place is always packed but you can always put your name down, go for a beautiful stroll down State street and return when you receive a call that... read more

All most everything is good on the menu. I think they get A+ graded sushi. Since it's always crowded, the sushi inventory always fresh. If you can afford it, this is the place to eat sushi.

Good but overrated fusion style. Traditional sushi lovers are better off going to Itsuki in Goleta. Arigato feels like style over substance and there is the feeling that they are pushing covers (rushing people through their meals) rather than offering a relaxed dining experience.

The place was packed by 6pm on Sunday, we waited until 6.25pm for a table. We sat by the sushi counter. We asked the chef to do us a selection of sashimi, rolls , sushi and hot food. He carefully selected for us, the meal was simply splendid. The sashimi was fresh and cuts very thick, the uni was simply... More

We came here on a Friday night in January and although most of the other restaurants in the area seemed deserted, this one was booming. We went in and although it was crowded they found us a table upstairs right away. We tasted a variety of items and all were outstanding. The servers were a little over worked and actually forgot... best sushi I've had, world wide. The chefs are giving a special and flavorful touch that goes beyond standard sushi fare. The tuna carpaccio, and seared scallops are omigod wonderful. There's a wide variety of types of things, so even if you're with someone who's scared of raw fish and seaweed, there's plenty to choose from.

we dined at busy saturday night, feb 2015. the staff was very friendly and courteous. the food ( sashimi was Excellent !! i think they can use more staff though. we were sitting outside, away from the main dining area and was hard to get waitress's attention. (no fault of her, she was just too busy)

Arigato is my first choice for sushi, because of the freshness of the fish and the choice of different sushi combinations and rolls. Service is outstanding, front of house terrific, and all the chefs there are great. The selection is amazing and we have had great meals. Most wonderful on a warm evening! But good anytime you feel like sushi.... More

I started going to Arigato when they were located in small intimate restaurant around the corner from where they are now located. The new place is larger yet has retained it's great atmosphere, food quality, and friendly customer service!!!! It is always full of cheerful people!! They tucked in the Art Center and Theater district of Santa Barbara.
