This is a busy, happening place where the staff are rushed and the noise level is high. They offer a number of hot dishes and specialty rolls as well as nigiri sushi. There may be some real gems in there, but what we had was distinctly ordinary. We began with a sashimi selection, which gave us a reading on what... More

I cannot begin to describe how wonderful Arigato Sushi is. Let me begin by noting that after many years as a sushi afficionado and having eaten it in Asia, New York, LA and San Francisco this is the unequivocal most interesting and best I've tasted. The Nigiri sushi and, especially, the last page of the menu listing of house specials... More

Best sushi in Santa Barbara. Be prepared for a long wait to get seated on the weekends. The seafood is always the freshest and the preparation is to die for. It is on the expensive side but well worth the price. At dinner, four of us spent almost $300 with wine. certainly can't eat here daily. But it is THE... More

Love love love! So glad w picked Arigato for dinner. The entire menu is awesome. Sushi is the best - fresh and superb. Our waitress was very helpful suggesting what to get. Highly recommend going here hungry and you will leave feeling full and happy.

We were in line at 5:00 as there is always a line to get in and we wanted the Sushi Bar. The Sushi Chefs are excellent and fun and the food is more that excellent. The rolls were perfection and they use real crab NOT FAKE! I can hardly wait to go back. Don't pass this place up it's the... More

State Street is chock full of quality restaurants - but when you see a line 25 deep every evening at 5:20pm prior to a 5:30 opening - it is a pretty good hint that the restaurant is something special. Arigato not only has the most delectable fish and sushi presentation - but the attentive servers who present you with all... More

On all fronts: quality of fish, care of presentation, friendliness of sushi chefs and support staff--it doesn't get better in Santa Barbara.

Decent sushi place. I guess we expected too much based on the reviews. Being vegetarians we had a few options which were good.

Some of the best Sushi and Sashimi EVER. Can't say enough about the quality of the food. Highlights were the dragon roll, the edamame (we ordered a second helping!), shrimp wontons and the crowning glory - honey black sesame ice cream with strawberries.

I've been here several times and it's honestly among the best sushi I've ever had. Whenever I have friends visiting from Europe, I also bring them to this place and everybody (including me everytime) is impressed by the lovely service, the freshness of the fish and the great menu. It might seem a little on the pricey side, but trust... More
