Old stage stop in a deep canyon

Always fun to visit here. Old, original bar. Short menu is available, but this has always been a cocktail stop for us. Lots of history! Grounds are interesting. If you come on a weekend, parking could be an issue. Drinks were fine; service was so-so.

The building appears to have been knocked together from scrap wood 100 years ago. The bar is small and seems like it should have a gathering of locals, but in fact the customers were a cosmopolitan group. The servers are absolutely friendly and helpful. We enjoyed reading the menu and would like to return to sample it - but sadly... More

Tucked away, giving no concern to anything other than the beauty they've always been..... This historic landmark has not only class, seclusion, and taste, but excellent food. Get here and enjoy. You won't be disappointed.

Thank you to the server @ coffee/Danish when we asked "what else should we see besides the museum, Lutheran Church, and mission?" She recommended and gave directions to this amazing and wonderful tavern. Beer and fries were all we had time and tummy-room for, but the beer selection was excellent and the fries fresh and hot. We wished we'd come... More

This little place on the side of the road feels like it's far away from Santa Barbara, California -- more like Appalachia! This is a historic stagecoach stop that remains just as it was 100 years ago. In the restaurant, we sat at a tiny table and had a bottle of local wine and delicious food, next to a cozy... More

This place is off the beat and path, but not far from town. It's charming and one of a kind. Perfect place to chill with acold beer, listen to music and has THE BEST people watching. As for the food…it's good, think bar food, but for overall experience it's GREAT!

This place is a must see if you like if you like the old West. We had the wild game black bean chili, regular chila and the chila verde absolutely delicious, we also had the buffalo burger & the venison steak sandwich all were excellent. Everyone loves the grilled trip tip sandwich. everything is fantastic.

We have been wanting to stop at this restaurant for many years. We decided to skip brunch in Solvang and headed to eat here. We arrived around 1 pm on Sunday and were seated right away. Both had really good burgers. I had a salad as my side and it was really good. Ingredients are really fresh and tasty. At... More

This restaurant is so rustic and charming with great food and wines. It is an an 1800's old stagecoach stop that is a must do. It is a bit difficult to find in the hills above Santa Barbara, but well worth the effort. The menu is full of different wild game and fabulous choices. A must do!!!

The owner/management should either update their inaccurate website, which promotes "Our famous Cold Spring Chili, Soups, Salads and Beverages are available between 3 and 5 PM daily" or better train their staff to learn the hours of service and proper service for that matter. We arrived at 2:45pm. The bartender was rude and made us feel like we were a... More
