Blues on sundays

We went to Cold Spring Tavern on Sunday to see Tom Ball and Kenny Sultan concert. The musicians are awesome, I do no have to say it. The tri tip sandwich is very good. You may think you have to go early to have a place in the shadow but it is not necessary because you can seat with other... read more

The drive is as gorgeous as ever, even with evidence that the drought is quite real. Do allow time from Santa Barbara, as Stagecoach Road is marked, but easy to miss if you are not careful. The restaurant is home to the original ranch dressing, according to information provided by the restaurant. The included salads have a variety of dressing... More

Great food and service, located in an out-of-the-way area of Las Padres National Forest. Easy day trip from Los Angeles.

I had heard about this place for years but never had the time to make the detour off the San Marcos Pass. Finally I did and I was not sorry. Extremely pleasant service, fresh baked bread, crisp salad with blue cheese dressing to die for and a lovely New York strip cooked to perfection.

Getting there is part of the fun; requires a detour off Highway 154 via the old Stagecoach Road, affording dramatic views of the stunning bridge that spans the valley. Upon arrival, you enter through an ancient door into an ambiance that is right out of the late 19th century West. The decor is mostly authentic, and generates a feeling of... More

Very rustic and an interesting historical stage stop. Most of the buildings appear to be authentic and it's surrounded by beautiful woods. Only ate here twice. 1st time food was ok, not great and a little pricey. 2nd time found broken glass (yes glass) in my chilly. Waiter skeptical until I put a spoonful on a plate and he personally... I like the history of this tavern and the staff was friendly. However, the food was average considering the price. If you are staying within the area it's a good place to eat but if you are traveling from far it's not worth it.

You might sit next to a movie star at this restaurant. I never have but one could. They visit for the food and the seclusion. Oprah lives nearby... I love this place. I've never had a bad meal here. The history and rustic, old California look is cool. All real. It was the old San Marcos stagecoach stop from Santa... More

We arrived with a Country and Western band in full flow and settled down to have good honest, solid meals, no messing about here! and very relaxing entertainment. The atmosphere was very authentically western, with huge steaks on the barbecue grill around the back, an old and original caboose to lock up any misbehaving customers, everyone so friendly and welcoming.... While staying at the Rancho Oso campground a few miles away in June 2015, we at this charming little restaurant. We had lunch one day and it was so good we went back for dinner a week later. Great western ambiance in a beautiful setting in he woods off HWY 154 near Santa Barbara. The prices for dinner were a... More
