Hole in the wall - but not really

Super popular dining spot up a mountain - beware for people that ge tcar sick - it is a windy road! Had to wait about an hour to get seated, but there is a bar next door. Was super cold when we went to Feb, so take a jacket. Food was awesome and big - so you can share as... read more

Highway #154 (toward Cachuma Lake) out of Santa Barbara is colorful, scenic drive northbound on the way to Solvang, or San Luis Obispo. Actually this road cuts off 30 min. of travel time by not driving on the #101 from Santa Barbara to SLO. The turn off, Stage Coach Rd, is the next hard left turn after reaching the summit... More

Tucked down in a canyon on the old Stagecoach route between Santa Barbara and Santa Ynez, this is a rustic and popular dining spot. Three of us met for lunch. We started with onion rings that had a tempura style batter. Yummy and not at all greasy. We all raved about our sandwiches that were served with a wide choice... More

This place has loads of history. It was a stage coach stop over a hundred years ago. The food is scrumptious and the desserts are to die for.The service is friendly. The drive is a little off the beaten path but well worth it for the food and the atmosphere. Call ahead for reservations as it is not a large place.... More

We have visited this place about four times. We love it. It’s a very charing little tavern and very historical, as well, as it is an historic stagecoach stop. The menu includes the rules for the stagecoach riders from the era and there is a detached building on the property that used to be the Ojai Jail. We’ve had breakfast... More

Very different restaurant to go to, especially the location. The drive there was very pretty and had lots of winding up the hill. Parking was interesting because you parked on the side of the road, right next to a drop off or a hill. Nothing to worry about (unless you have a really low-riding car). The food was pretty good,... Loved it. Staying in Santa Barbara for a few days, and I had been dying to try Cold Spring Tavern. My plan had been to go there for dinner on our arrival day (a Thursday), but we rolled into town later than expected, so I changed the plan to lunch the following day. Even though I had been looking forward... More

Nice drive to get there, about 15 miles from UCSB. They have buildings from 1896 and say that the stagecoaches would stop there for food and drinks back in the day. Ribs were great and the beer battered onion rings are a must try. Bands play on the weekends, we had a fun group when we were there. Next time... More
