Fresh and Made from Scratch

We had the special pork and pasilla pepper on corn tortillas. Could not have been better. The pork was tender and spiced to perfection; everything was fresh, including the tortillas made from a big ball of dough, and the salsa with fresh everything. It's a taqueria, so don't expect atmosphere, but fast food doesn't come better than this.

There is little I can say here that others have probably not already said. If you like Mexican food - or any delicious food - head over there. I have detoured many miles, while on a trip, just to hit this place. You'll have to be lucky to not get a long line. It's that good. But, the line does... More

This place is incredibly authentic. The lines are very long but worth it. No frills and cash only. Highly recommended.

This was my fifth visit, and years later, it still glows with perfection. Not too trendy, but still very very cool. The locals still line up at 1030 for the 11 opening (myself included), and the line is around the corner by noon. Homemade....everything ! Tortillas especially yummy. Lots of veggie options, and even traditional goat pisole. Lots of creative... More

Went for lunch on a Tuesday. Arrived around noon and a small line out the door. Waited for about 15 minutes. You order at the counter on a menu on a big board. Tried the beef, pork and chicken tacos. Each taco comes with 2 tortillas and you can make 2 tacos with one order. Make sure you take cash.... More

Every time I am in Santa Barbara I stop here. Every time is better then the last. This place is in an un-discerning location, that you could easily drive by if not for the line out the door at peak hours. The menu is easy to order from, its best to know what you are getting well in advance. They... More

Very torn about this review since some things were very good but others were not good at all. The tamale was delicious. The pork in two dishes we got were dried out, chewy and flavorless. But then the steak taco was well cooked, juicy and very flavorful. I would go back to give it another try.

A fantastic family friendly spot in Santa Barbara. Excellent food prepared in a small kitchen by a busy, friendly group. Order up front and step into their canvas covered patio to enjoy one of the best authentic Mexican meals you will enjoy north of the border. The tables are rough and heavy but clean and the resin chairs are oddly... More

Revisited after a few years out of town. Still great! Handmade tortillas and everything else is fresh off the grill. Remember that this is a taqueria, not a standard Mexican restaurant, so it is definitely casual. If picnic tables and plastic chairs aren’t your style, then this is not the place for you. But you’ll be missing great tacos and... More
