I have been eating here for years. This is old school Mexican food. I love to go on Tuesdays for the Sopes. Their sauces and salsas are amazing.

Being a loyal Food Network fan, I have to try at least one restaurant featured on the channel everywhere I travel. This place happened to be my choice for Santa Barbara. It is the type of taqueria where you order individual items (w/ no sides) for a couple bucks per item. I ended up spending $30 for myself to try... More

We were anxious to try this based on the rave reviews from several sources. There were several "must have" items missing from a taco place. One is al pastor tacos. Another is tacos de lengua. I am Mexican and found all the items we ordered were lacking that authentic taste. We found excellent Mex food, however, up the street so... More

This is the most authentic Mexican food you will find anywhere and the line out the door and down the sidewalk is an indication of how good it is! Order at the counter window and then find a table in the very casual patio dining area. Choices are extensive and since the dishes are small, get a few and try... More

This place was a recommendation from the woman who sold us a fantastic bottle at Geissinger Winery (a great Pinot Noir) as we would never have found it or stopped on our own. We asked her for some good Mexican. She said the place wasn't fancy (it is very, very far from that) but the food was good. We were... More

I believe this place has managed to achieve a very good balance of traditional mexican food with the right ammount of spiciness for those of us who cannot handle the spice, yet would throw down tacos any day of the week. Well priced food, delicious, and with the right amout of flavours.

Really delicious. Worth the drive. From Chicago to Santa Barbara! Fresh, homemade and loaded with cilantro. Does life get any better?

I know that it is quoted that Julia Child's loved this restaurant, but is it really worth the lines? In a day-in-age where cuisine is constantly evolving, this restaurant has stood still. This may or may not be a bad thing depending on your perspective. Terrific traditional food is terrific. But in the case of La Super-Rica, the food is... More

We loved trying La Super-Rica - I promised our daughter we would try it since Katy Perry sings about it! The food is very fresh and prepared to order. The gentleman taking the orders was helpful and friendly. We didn't have a long line when we went for lunch but it was very long by the time we left. It's... More

You might call it a local grill, but they make - while you look - some of the best and most authentic mexican food I have ever had, including Mexico. No white cloth and silverware here, but very cheap and very good.
