The worst Mexican food I have ever eaten. There are loads of better Mexican places in Santa Barbara. We were in a party of four and the opinions ranged from"bland" (the best) through to "made me feel ill". I cannot believe the hype about this place. Dreadful.

With all the upscale restaurants in Santa Barbara, who could predict that one of the most memorable meals would be eaten in a place that rated five stars for food and one star for atmosphere. I don't care about the lack of elegant surroundings, but I do wish the amazing food came with a staff to clear and clean the... More

Maybe it's me but I didn't think the food met the hype. Granted it was good and a funky place that feels super authentic. But the menu is hard to decipher - some around us ordered way to much. We probably ordered one dish too little (to share). I'm sure the locals have it nailed. Out-of-towner, not so much. A... More

This is a very special place, and a favorite of locals, which says a lot because there is great Mexican food in Santa Barbara. There is almost always a line out the door, and we've seen many out-of-towners give up and leave, but just hang-in there. The portions are small, but so are the prices, so if you order a... More

The line is part of the experience; we made new friends from Argentina. Try the tacos with chile (forgot the name); like no other anywhere. Tacos de chuleto great with fresh pico de gallo from condiment bar. Tamalitos like su Madre used to make. Do not scrimp. Order everything that sounds good. I love the ambiance of a real place... Loved this place. Food was delicious. So glad we stopped by and had lunch. Get here early, as the lines can be long.

The single best reason to hit Super-Rica is to get those fresh tortillas. And I mean FRESH. As you're ordering, you can see the woman making them by hand right behind the cashier. They taste incredible. Unfortunately, there are a lot of negatives surrounding the experience. You wait in a long line with one cashier. Seating is incredibly limited and... More

While there are plenty of good Mexican spots in town, La super rica is my favorite and really a classic place. The food is so simple, but so high quality. My favorite is the super rica especial.

We stopped for our lunch and so glad we did! It's just a simple food stand with a few tables, but the food is incredible. Everything we ordered was delicious! We left stuffed and satisfied, highly recommended!
