Best expresso hand's down

The owners are true dedicated bicyclists hence the coffee shop's name. They have a huge following largely due to the amazing expresso they turn out. They are voted the best in SB through the local weekly newspaper. On a nice day stop in and sit outside on their patio and take in some sun with your... read more

I went in due to the name and had my double espresso in a genuine cup. Reasonable coffee, ambiance good, sat outside and was pleasant

Handlebar Coffee Roasters was recommended by a local when asked where to find the best strong cup of coffee, or espresso. It did not disappoint. No waiting, eco friendly, clean what more could you ask for?

The young young couple who started this coffee house have done an amazing job. They started small but as word of mouth spread they expanded. Centrally located to many of Santa Barbara's historical sites as well as downtown shops. Great coffee in a friendly atmosphere with plenty of outdoor seating.

Great local coffee shop. They roast (and sell) beans there too...best we've found in SB. Baked goods are awesome too. Recently enlarged so service is quicker now.

Did a quick stop at handlebar before a road trip to Monterey. Though, I didn't offer any coffee, which is what they were known for, the pastries were great. Prices of the pasties are a bit high though (roughly $3-$4 per piece). The customer service was awesome. Super friendly people behind the counter. Definitely worth a visit if your in... More

The GF banana nut muffin is one of the best things I've ever tasted, and that is saying something. The mocha was my second favorite ever...although you will need to sweeten it yourself because it comes unsweetened, which I actually would rather have than something too sweet. It was so smooth. There was a crazy line out the door, but... More

Popped in here to grab a coffee whilst running out of town. Found an awesome cafe that was full of people grabbing their morning brew. Had an awesome strong coffee, a rare find in the states.

From owner operated, to hand roasted fresh coffee bean. The staff is friendly, knowledgable and knows you by name. Best atmosphere, inside and on the patio. The coffee is simply the best in town!
