Cannot rave enough as a well travelled Aussie, there are very few coffee places I enjoy in my constant travels in the US, these guys have the right equipment, and know how to use it. It's sad that Starbucks down the street is busier! No burnt beans, great balance and temperature and presentation. Stoked to support them and to have... More

The Handlebar is a small, out of the way, coffee bar you should definitely try when visiting Santa Barbara. The coffees and pastries are great and the service is very warm and friendly. They'll know you are a visitor because everyone else there is a local regular. It reminds me of a small neighborhood coffee bar in Rome or Paris.... More

The owners and staff make customers feel genuinely welcomed and cared for. They roast their own beans and really take pride in the quality of the coffee and presentation. Not to mention selling Reanuad's amazing pastries!

Great coffee and authentic French-style croissants. Coming from Melbourne, where coffee is almost a religion, we struggled to find coffee of commensurate standard during our holiday in California - so we were stoked to find good coffee in Santa Barbara!

Great coffee, great owners and employees. I regularly buy their store roasted beans to brew at home, too. I would give them an excellent rating if they changed up their morning pastry selection a bit more often.

A great coffeehouse right in the best area to see the main sites of the city. Nice people too. Right across the street from El Presidio.

Darn the coffee was fabulous! The baristas were great and so nice. Best coffee I have had anywhere--Europe included!

Owned by two former professional cyclists, Aaron and Kim, the Handlebar brings that same focus and dedication to detail to in-house roasting, espresso beverages, brewed coffees, teas and their selection of baked goods from local bakers. All is served by a very friendly and informed staff. There is no finer place for a cup and a sweet in Santa Barbara.

We're used to good coffee living in San Francisco so we looked up reviews and found this place and it was great. Really good coffee and some really muffins and croissants. Highly recommend to try the almond croissant. My wife had a gluten free muffin and it was really good. Seating is only outside in a lane way but the... More
