Description: Surprised not to see this on your web site - many people (myself included) consider it the best Mexican Food in Santa Barbara. Service also excellent, at least when they are not crowded, which the often are! Just down the street from another outstanding (but simpler) Mexican Restaurant, La Super-Rica Taqueria.

Went here after checking Tripadvisor. We were not disappointed! This is not run of the mill Mexican food. It is innovative but still all the great flavors you love! Their salsa bar is excellent. Fish dishes super! Will definitely recommend and go back again.

Best Mexican food in SB! I had the chicken enchiladas with a green sauce that dazzled my taste buds. The service was attentive and helpful. My daughter loved the waitress and she was kind to my kids. Wife had a seafood salad that was good. Kids split a big burrito that filled them up. Great salsa bar with fresh salsas... More

If you are used to eating Mexican food at places like El Torito then you will probably like this place. If you are used to authentic Mexican food from some of the places in L.A. then you will walk away disappointed. It wasn't bad.... it just lacked the depth of spices we love in authentic Mexican food. We ordered the... More

Nicely located not in the touristy/crowded parts of downtown and with their own parking, this is a place I'd be happy to go back to. The menu is huge and they have lots of specials. Portions are a good size and come with chips and lots of salsa. They also have good beer selection, Mexican Cokes and Jaritos. Basically, all... More

Just passing through and so glad I am back home in San Diego where there is really GOOD Mexican food. I was so disappointed after reading the reviews of this place and seeing it is ranked #4 in Santa Barbara. All I can say is I am so sorry for the people of Santa Barbara as they do not know... More

The staff is so friendly. The restaurant is so clean. The food comes out fast, but is still prepared to order. When you order a chicken a dish - you can tell it is chicken. The food has so much fresh flavors. The salsa is awesome. My favorite is the enchiladas guadalarja with verde sauce and chicken. Can't go wrong.... More

We were in Santa Barbara for a day visit 9/30/14. We read Trip advisers highest rated restaurants and were in the mood for Mexican food. We parked in Public Garage #7 as were going to take the tour of the Old Courthouse at 2 pm. We walked one and one-half miles to Los Agaves and it was well worth it.... More

Very fresh & trendy Santa Barbara Mex to the max. Nice chips & an impressive salsa bar with one so hot you cry, down to mild enough for kids. Food is prepared fresh and the place is bustling & busy. Impressive burritos, tasty fish tacos, excellent creamy flan. Reasonable prices, too. There are a few places in restaurant that would... More

this place is not fancy but what a menu. You order at the counter and find a table. the seating area in front of counter seemed to be the least air conditioned. they give you a number so you may take your beer to your table. We adored our selections of Molcajetes and Chimichanga. We will return ( :

This is the best Mexican food I ever had in the US! It was just so tasty! The dishes looked very good too, they had a pretty "gourmet" look them. This was very surprising, as this was a relatively simple restaurant, where you order and get your own food on the counter, rather than through waiters. Regardless, the dishes look... More
