This is a great business, as they welcome their guests to get comfy, get some work done, and enjoy a pull of espresso

Two dollars and seventy five cents for an average sized cup of bitter coffee. Even for a hipster hangout, this was too much.

Stopped into French press on our way out of Santa Barbara and had breakfast. The food and coffee were good. The staff were very pleasant. The outdoor seating was great to see State Street lively on a weekday morning.

Great shop on State Street in the heart of Santa Barbara. Castle Roasters coffee and espresso. Yummy baked goods. Good teas and plenty of coffee merchandise. Come in and enjoy a great cup of crafted coffee and sit back and work or watch the world go by. Some outside seating. Get a pour over and relax.

This is a great modern coffee place one block away from State Street. It is nice to sit outside in the sun (or shade if you prefer that). Convenient location in a more open and less busy environment than State Street.

I tried this place based on yelp reviews and it did not disappoint. I had both an americano and the brewed coffee and both were strong and delicious without the burnt bitter taste of certain chain coffeehouses. I also tried the biscuits and jam and the pear gongozola scone...absolutely amazing! Fresh, flavorful and not overly sweet. The only reason I... More

My espresso had the flavor of burnt beans, very acidic too. And my brownie was crunchy. But they do have a good location on State Street across from Andersen's.

We were on bikes returning from the Mission on a hot day , the patio is well shaded and central to State street. Great coffee. Could use some more variety of treats and Italian sodas.

Being from New Zealand, we were pretty anxious about whether we would be able to get a nice coffee in Santa Barbara. The French Press came to the rescue - I think we got coffee from here every day that we were in Santa Barbara. We ordered cappuccinos, and there were pretty close to what you would get if you... The other local coffee roaster in town used to be my favorite coffee place--the owners are great, really nice people, but I tired of years (!) of the same breakfast pastries. I've always felt French Press had the best espresso in town, and still do. Mostly it is near perfect and sometimes, it is perfect. I've brought visiting coffee snob... More
