Great coffee

The other local coffee roaster in town used to be my favorite coffee place--the owners are great, really nice people, but I tired of years (!) of the same breakfast pastries. I've always felt French Press had the best espresso in town, and still do. Mostly it is near perfect and sometimes, it is perfect. I've brought visiting coffee snob... More

Really great lattes-- perfect espresso and beautiful foam. If you want to sit get here early or wait till the late morning lull. There are tables and counter space inside and tables outside but all were full on a Thursday morning before 10. The baked goods are limited but looked very good.

This place is delicious. The location is great and it has a lot of seating outside and inside. It's packed with locals and tourists. We got a latte, cappuccino, and split a warm bacon biscuit (that came with butter and jam) and we were thoroughly impressed. We have such amazing coffee in Portland.. and I feel like French Press surpassed... More

I always look for the non chain espresso shop with character, and good coffee. This fits the bill. The pastries also looked delicious but I didn't try them.

Had breaky there this morning. The salty banana cake is succulent. I had some bagel along with a nice latte. Coffee was very good. There are tables both inside and outside. The staff is friendly and puts heart into work. I recommend for morning breakfast.

This may be heresy for Starbucks fans, but French Press is the real thing. Each cup is a religious rite and the taste proves it. Ordered an iced coffee the other day and the barista made it from an expresso shot and added cold water. No limp flavor here! Ambiance also counts. The French Press has a beautiful outdoor space... This place serves excellent espresso coffee and we mean excellent. Added to this the street scape outside the shop is great and there is free parking nearby. All topped off by super friendly service. Couldn't ask for more.
