After 18 days of eating out throughout America this was my fathers best meal he had ever tasted, and believe me it takes a lot to make him happy.

My husband and I are from the east coast and while in Santa Barbara we were hoping to find great creative tacos AND great Margarita's. We checked reviews online and asked the concierge at our hotel. Sandbar didn't pop up, but we passed it, saw the menu and we were intrigued. We both chose tacos. They come as 3 open... More

Walked down State Street and happened to come on to this famous Mexican restaurant which was recommended to us! There was a line so that is a plus. Great Mexican food, the drinks were flowing and the atmosphere was incredible! We were in a great mood and our wait staff was on the ball, happy and doing everything to make... More

During Happy Hour, they have a good selection beers and wines. Their Tostados Mistos was an awesome and HUGE salad for less than $10. I went back and had it 2 different times over 2 days. Great outdoor seating with fire pits and hightop heated tables, and a great outdoor seating area for people watching on State Street

They have a super breakfast option with good choices (most with a Mexican flair, natch!) along with a drink (Mimosas, etc). The drinks are mundane, but the food was really good. We had eggs, mexican burrito and mexican french toast (ok, kind of an oxymoron, but still really good!)

My wife and I (along with our 2 dogs) had lunch at The Sandbar and really enjoyed it... They are very dog friendly on their patio (in front of restaurant right on State Street). The menu had a good selection of Mexican standards (both the margaritas and the food was terrific). We really enjoyed our chicken enchiladas and tostada salad.... More

I came here for dinner on a friday night. Place was packed and the atmosphere was great. It is a combo of a bar and a restaurant, there is loud music and it has some tv screens. Even though it has the atmosphere of a cantine the food is really, really good. We started of with the chicken tenders and... More

We didn't know where to go in Santa Barbara,we chose Sandbar because from outside it looked inviting and relaxed. As soon as we were seated, they brought us complimentary freshly baked nachos. We took very long to decide with meals but our server remained patient and polite for the whole time. I ended up getting Jalisco Shrimp Quesadillas, and omg...I... More

We had lunch here. We wanted to go to Cadiz (just across the street) but that one was still closed, so we ended up here by accident. We had some salads, nachos, burgers and the house tortilla chips and everyhting was nice and fresh. THe burgers come from a real grill, which really makes them very tasty and still juicy.... More
