The clam chowder was exceptional and the seafood linguini was outstanding! Stay away from the fried foods the batter is really greasy and takes away from the seafood. The waitstaff give typing a different experience depending on who you have. The first water we had was not good he seems bored with his job. When he told us about the... More

We're happy for the service minded personal that meets us in general in the US and which also was the case here. Being a steak and fish restaurant it would be fair to expect the meat being of good quality - wasn't the case here though. The fish on the other hand was fresh and good.

We had an excellent dinner with friends recently. I had the fresh sand dabs and they were cooked perfectly. The fresh, hot bread rolls were wonderful. The restaurant is nicely appointed with white table clothes and a great view of the sunset. We had reservations for 6:30 and our table for 6 was ready upon our arrival. We enjoyed a... More

This was our second time at the Manta Rey. We love their food. Will always return. Nice wines. Something weird going on with the help though. We can't quite figure it out. Three ladies just kind of stand around and look at everyone. Our waiter was pleasant and professional. He recommended a roasted pepper soup that was excellent.

A dead dog could cook better and would taest better too. Please, do not eat at the Manta Ray. No food would be better.

Arrived for dinner at 4:45pm to find the doors locked and a sign saying open at 5. Hung out in the parking lot enjoying the ocean scenery and the many hummingbirds that feast on the surrounding flowers. They opened promptly at five and were greeted by a long time employee who really wasn't thrilled to be working however still pleasant.... More

This is a wonderful little restaurant adjacent to the Quality Inn right off of CA 1. We enjoyed a great bottle of local wine and the fish dishes were spectacular. The prices were reasonable and we ate between 5-6 taking advantage of their "early bird" specials. Add in a 10% discount for staying at the Quality Inn and it was... More

I came here with my boyfriend for our anniversary weekend and found a deal online for this place and hearst castle tickets. Ordered the fillet mignon and it was amazing! Got a bottle of Cab and it could not complain! Our waiter was a guy who was very friendly and gave excellent service! We shared their chocolate cake and the... More

Poor, all the fish dishes we order were overcooked. The salad was acceptable that's about all. The only thing going for the restaurant is the attachment to the Quality Inn if you are staying there.

We enjoyed the quiet atmosphere and delicious seafood. My husband had the seared blackened salmon with lemon caper sauce. He said it was the best salmon he ever tasted. I had the cod fish platter that was lightly breaded and cooked to perfection, not greasy but light and tender. The great wine list was another plus.
