We had planned a special evening with another couple and picked the Manta Rey due to high ratings. Not only was the food poorly prepared but the prices were not consistent with the portions. I stayed at The Morgan and they recommended eating here and even gave us a 10% coupon for our meal. So we went. The clam chowder was EXCELLENT. My crusted sea bass was good but not worth $20 dollars. This is a very small restaurant in the heart of San Simeon opposite the Orchid Inn. I had the Sandabs for dinner and they were amazing! Nice intimate dining area but had to wait a little for a table. Would recommend. more

I think this is probably a good bet for good food at a reasonable price. Our food was good, service was good and overall experience good. There is not much to choose from near where we were staying and the food was much better than many restaurants we have at home. Everything was cooked perfect and the staff was pleasant.... more
