The Morgan Hotel where very very keen to recommend this restaurant as the best in the area, going as far as warning us off the neighbouring mexican. We had a "nice enough" meal. We had planned a special evening with another couple and picked the Manta Rey due to high ratings. Not only was the food poorly prepared but the prices were not consistent with the portions. I stayed at The Morgan and they recommended eating here and even gave us a 10% coupon for our meal. So we went. The clam chowder was EXCELLENT. My crusted sea bass was good but not worth $20 dollars. This is a very small restaurant in the heart of San Simeon opposite the Orchid Inn. I had the Sandabs for dinner and they were amazing! Nice intimate dining area but had to wait a little for a table. Would recommend. more
