Mediocore place

This was a place close to Hearst Castle. It was cold and windy and I was hungry. Decided to stop and eat and get on the road. I know California is in drought but c'mon the sink in the bathroom could use a regular faucet. It currently has one that you have to hold down with one hand to have... read more

Came here on the way back down to San Louis Obispo from the Big Sur and I was very pleased with my burrito, beans and rice!! The food has a distinctive flavor from where I live in Wisconsin, where most of the Mexican restaurants have food from Veracruz, Zacatecas or Guanajuato (Did I spell that right?). I definitely liked the... More

Wanted a Mexican food fix after a week without so visited this restaurant on a Sunday night. There were only 3 other small parties there, but service was slow. Food was just ok, not great like we hoped. Margaritas were just average too - should have had a beer.

We went in at night kinda after busy hours and nice friendly staff brought chips and salsa right away. I loved their home-made chips. Food and drinks we ordered came quick. I liked my chicken enchiladas the most. Place to go when you're staying around this area.

Nothing to shout about here. Drinks were disgusting, apparently due to drought and bad filtration system. I felt bad for the serving staff who constantly explained this to each and every table. Food was ok, service the same.

We had a very quick dinner here before our evening tour of Hearst Castle. We were starving. The margaritas were good, the American style tacos were filling, and the service was especially good. They were prompt and very polite about helping us get out the door and on our tour in time.

My wife and I were on a little pre-cruise vacation exploring the coast when we came to San Simeon. My very first time I came to California in 1989 I ate at El Chorlito to experience real Mexican food for the first time. When we came down the coast to see the Hearst Castle, I knew I wanted to come... More

Not bad for Mexican food in the middle of nowhere. They have a good vegetarian selection, including tofu fajitas. Service was good. I would definitely come back, if visiting the Hurst Castle again, because there are not many vegetarian friendly restaurants between San Simeon and Cambria.

We had an overnight stop in San Simeon, and after visiting Hearst Castle we went for a wander around the place , it is a relatively small town . We came across El Chorlito and what a pleasant restaurant it is , the staff were very friendly and the food was lovely , we stayed a while after dinner for... More

This place served good, filling meals at decent prices. The place could do with a bit of a makeover, but I liked the curious bits and pieces hanging up and hiding in the dried flowers. Pleasant staff, although they could smile more. Situated in an area with just a few hotels and earteries, so is a good place to stop... More
