Doesn't look like much, but it is

Great food. Wonderful sandwiches, but they could be easily shared as they are enormous as well as tasty.

We at the Greek salad which was delicious. Lots of Romaine lettuce, cucumbers, red onions, tomatoes and red peppers. The salad dressing was perfect--not too oily with a lemony taste. We also had the black bean burger. Wow, the spices in the burger were so tasty--very strong, but perfect balance of chili taste. Our friend had the tri tip salad... More

Staying in San Simeon we were looking for a coffee shop and were disappointed to find this sandwich shop with an attached wine tasting bar but only filtered coffee. So we drove a little south to Cambria and found Cambria Coffee Roasting, an excellent place to hang out.

The location, the food, the view, what more could you ask for. The bean burger was one of the best, and a historic site. The castle is just across the street.

We are locals who have now given the new ownership 3 tries and we are so disappointed each and every time that we will not be visiting again. This last time we tried the burgers to find that the meat was the texture of a preformed patty (slightly tough) and had absolutely no seasoning on the meat....VERY BLAND and also... More

We have been traveling up and down Hwy 1 for years and have visited the village of San Simeon but have never stopped at Sebastians. This time we stopped and ate at the cafe. WOW, they make the BEST sandwiches I have ever eaten. The whole staff at the cafe were very friendly and courteous. Makes me sorry I haven't... More

Sebastian's is a little building near the entrance to Hearst Castle (across Hwy 1), where you can eat locally prepared Hearst beef (BBQ style), as well as taste wine from the Hearst Winery tasting bar. It's also right next door to the San Simeon pier that was used to offload ships with materials to build Hearst Castle. Lots of history... More

If you are visiting Hearst Castle in San Simeon, avoid the restaurants in the Visitors Center (really just cafeteria food), and head down the hill from the Castle to Sebastian's. Sebastian's is located on the West side of Highway 1 directly across the street from the Castle. The place is genuinely funky and the food is mostly of the burger/grilled... More

Sebastian’s was suggested by a colleague and since he’s normally spot on we decided to stop by after our Hearst Castle tour. There was a huge line when we arrived – that’s a good sign, right? We got our food about an hour after first arriving and were ok with that. One of the locals suggested the burger because the... More

Stopped here after our morning at the Piedras Blancas Lighthouse..sat out on the deck and enjoyed a glass of wine for half an hour...Walk down the street there and out on the pier at Hearst State Beach.
