I haven't been here for four years, but from the moment I walked in this afternoon I was welcomed by Tony and treated as though I was an every day customer. It was like "Papa San" (that's me) and my son-in-law were the only ones in the house. We put the selection in Tony's capable hands and were not disappointed.... More

As a self proclaimed sushi and Sashimi connoisseur, I have enjoyed many Japanese restaurants, but none as consistently as fresh an Sakura. " Tony make anything for you" is the chef's motto; however, his regular 2 dozen menu options can be easily modified to fit your satisfaction. His traditional Japanese food is great as well, but his magic to sushi... More

The food is amazing! Everyone there is so nice and helpful! Plus the sushi pieces are huge! Totally worth the price! I have been coming here for over 7 years with my family and every time i come here i still love it!

Been going to Sakura for many years. The owners and staff always welcome us like family and are very attentive. The menu is varied and very good and the Sushi and Sashimi is out of this world. Small, family run establishments like this are hard to find, like precious gems! I highly recommend Sakura

We ordered salmon and it must have been frozen. It was not fresh. It was not flaky. It was hard and had no taste.

Reasonable Japanese food for lunch? Yes! Sakura offers lovely combo plates letting you choose two entrees (including 2 sushi options), rice, salad and soup. If you're still hungry (really?), you can order great ala carte sushi including unique rolls. The place is quiet, tucked away in a large mall, but you lose the mall feeling inside. The people running this... More

My friend and i stopped by for lunch last week; my venue selection was as a change from old standby favorities. boy, i wish i had stayed with my instincts. My sushi fish was not fresh at all and I left the remaining pieces on the place. Fish actually tasted bad; a new low for me. Sushi rice very ordinary... More

It's start with a nice welcoming staff all dressed in traditionnal japanese clothes. Then we ordered real japanese beer that came with cool glass in a bowl to keep if cold! We were then faced to a large menu that got me really confused. Some expert sushi colleagues just knew what to order. An amazing plate in a form of... More

Tony creates original fare and perfects the usual sushi/sashimi. He travels to Oakland fish market at 5 am each day. We love the boulevard roll, rainbow roll, the oysters and sashimi. This is a locally owned family business and everyone is treated as such. Harry is the king of sake bombs and Kathi makes everything run smoothly. The only slight... More

I've been to every sushi place in the area. This one tops them all! I won't go anywhere else! The caterpillar roll is a yummy masterpiece!
