I love Lotus' food and the owner and rest of staff are friendly and excellent. The Navrattan Korma is our favorite and the lentil soup is terrific - fresh and light. Try the raisin naan and the sweet lassi if you want something a little sweet. The ceiling opens for a beautiful outdoor feel too. Cool.

The food at Lotus was exceptionally delicious--the combination of the spices were done perfectly, with nothing overpowering the other and every bite heavenly.

While the seating is not especially comfortable the service is slightly above average for San Rafael and the food excellent. Located a half block or so from the

Comparing against all the restaurants I have had food at in Santa Rosa, this is Zagat rated and rightly so. Love their achaari paneer and other curries. Have been there twice already and will go for more in the future. Ambience is good too!

My co-workers and I hit Lotus when we want Indian, the service is great and the food even better. They have a great buffet. I particularly love the Chicken Tika Masala and Tandori Chicken. I have been coming to Lotus for years and will continue to do so.

We thought the luncheon buffet was terrific so we could try a variety of foods at a good price. We loved the pakora, different kinds of chicken dishes, variety of sauces, and desserts. My husband, who is just beginning to really enjoy Indian foods, declared this the best Indian restaurant he has ever been to. If we had more time... More

Good lunch buffet. Fairly expensive at dinner time. Standard fare, very consistent quality. No surprises. Chai is only OK, gulab jam in are not good. gruff staff. music has not changed in 15 years.

The restaurant has an interesting ambiance. The food is decent though not the best Indian food. Given that it located in Marin County, far away from all the great Indian food places in the Bay Area, it may work for many people just for the sake of convenience, We had the lunch buffet. The naan was okay but not crispy... More

Lotus does traditional Indian dishes very well, using top-notch ingredients. In the few times we have eaten at Lotus, we have not had one bad dish, and we have had a fairly large range of dish types. Nearly all have been very good or excellent. And they do not make the dishes insipidly unspiced to cater to a western taste,... More
