I do enjoy eating Shabu...

I do enjoy eating Shabu and the Shabu here is Kobe Beef in both regular and lean varieties. I particularly enjoy their Sukiyaki but last time I went it wasn't available. Not sure why. Overall the food is good here, although every time I went, there's a wait for dinner. Service is nice but a... read more

Shabuway's version of shabu shabu is a step up from the classic Chinese hot pot. It's tastier, more satisfying. It has a distinctive Japanese element to the meal which my wife and I find virtually addictive causing us to satisfy our craving for this unique cuisine at least 2 to 3 visits a month. Always good.

My family and I have been to the restaurant about 30 times and we all really enjoy it. The shabu shabu is great. In addition to beef they have lamb and pork. They also offer a variety of vegetables. The prices are very reasonable and the food quality has been very consistent for us. Only downside is that sometimes you... More

We were in San Mateo and got a sudden craving for shabu. We decided on Shabuway and were pretty dissapointed. The "lean kobe meat" was actually pretty hard and the meat lacked taste, even after dipping the meat in all the sauces. I would look for another shabu place.

No Problem with taste and presentation.........very good! However, definitely not "Japanese" service. Yoshinoya does better (oops, did I say that). Wish they would not mention the "All-you-can-Eat" on their homepage, especially the fine print which dates back to 2011.

I eat this kind of food regularly in Los Angeles, and this place serves authentic delicious Shabu Shabu. The Japanese Kobe was absolutely divine, and the dipping sauces are fresh and delicious. I would definitely eat here again if I am in the area. Loved it. Excellent dinner.

Shabuway only serves Shabu-Shabu, the broth fondue. The "kombu" kelp broth is the authentic but pitifully they have added spicy broth for non-Japanese Asian clienteles. Thin sliced beef are in certain quality for this pot cooking, but the service is considerable. Don't expect Japanese hospitality there because the servicepersons are not Japanese.

This individual hotpot joint is a bit too much style over substance. But the food isn't terrible.
