A San Mateo favorite for breakfast

They serve very ample and not expensive breakfasts here. I've never been for lunch or dinner, but if the breakfast is any example, I'm sure the other meals are good as well. Good seating, very good service. I've been using it for business meals and you can actually talk at a normal volume and... read more

My wife and I ordered salads ( Cobb salad and Pecan Dijon salad) and we were both pleased. My friend ordered breakfast, which looked delicious. Generous portions and good service. You may have to circle around the block to find parking on the city streets so give yourself some extra time if you are on a tight schedule.

a solid and dependable breakfast place. we went for breakfast the day after mother's day and enjoyed a very nice, unrushed, uncrowded venue. i ordered the spanish scramble which was good - not quite enough chorizo for my taste, but it was good. instead of the potatoes, i requested fresh fruit which was fresh and tasty. the potatoes i don't... Convenient. Nice menu. The veg omelette is decent. Coffee is always hot. Service is good. Nice ambience. I usually visit once every three months of so. Simple, easy, tasty.

A lot of bad experiences for lunch, dirty glasses, dirty cups, my veggie sandwich was really bad, and for asking check another bad experience, they tried to gave us the one from other table. A bad day!, maybe the turn from the morning is more active than the one at lunch, a bad experience.

Good huevos rancheros and other breakfast selections in the heart of San Mateo! Since all we wanted was a place to wolf down on a pre-departure breakfast, this place more than served the purpose.

It was Excellent! Had the veggie quesadilla from the "Health Watch" section of the menu and hubby had the reuben sandwich - both came with a delicious house salad and fruit cup and the sandwich came with diced potatoes (baked not fried) Waitress was friendly and prices were reasonable. Were seated right away. This will be a regular breakfast, brunch,... More

We came here with a group of eight for breakfast and were seated promptly. The service was pleasant and expedient. The menu consists of the typical American breakfast selections. The veggie omelet was quite good and the coffee was decent (organic fair trade coffee), but a little on the weak side. We've eaten here quite a few times over the... More

We always come for breakfast here when we are in town, visiting with our grandkids. The breakfasts are just wonderful, and with the exception of once (on our most recent visit this past month), we have always had great service. Our favorite server, who has been there for years, knows our grandkids, and she is not only extremely efficient, but... More

Though popular with some, Bay Watch presents breakfasts prepared without a lot of fat and salt, and also without much flavor. The menu is traditional breakfast fare, perhaps more healthful than Denny's or Pizza Hut, but generally uninteresting. The coffee is weak. Service is OK. Prices are reasonable.
