A dining institution in San Mateo.

Had an excellent dinner at Luceti's. Started with onion soup that had good taste and lots of cheese. Main course was veal scalopine which was very tender and came with 2 vegetables. Service was also very good with bread being refilled as well as attention to clearing plates and refilling water.

Attended an event with friends and had a great meal. We good great, attentive service. Had the ravioli's and they were delicious. Friends really enjoyed the sole. Our group took up most of the front dining room and were very comfortable. Will certainly return.

This is an authentic type establishment that serves good and consistent Italian food, that seems to have a lot of local “regulars”. The waiters are older men who have worked there for years and do not have time to be very friendly. There is an “old fashioned” bar and the bar tender knows how to make an old fashioned drink!... We were staying down the Peninsula, but wanted to eat at a authentic Italian restaurant. Using the car GPS we went by four 'Italian' restaurants until we found Luceti's. The atmosphere was what we were looking for, a neighborhood hangout where most of the customers were regulars, and made for a friendly and welcoming feeling. Service was good, and the... More

What a disappointment, I believe the new owners have a lot to learn or they are not going to last. I took my wife for Mother's Day Brunch, we made reservations on open table and our table was ready when we arrived, hostess was very friendly and nice. We were seated and warm bread and waters were brought right over... More

I went Luceti today because it closer from the hotel I am staying and say a rating of 4 in most of the websites. I ordered Gnocchi with Alfredo sauce which is my favorite Italian dish. It was the worst Gnocchi and the worst Alfredo sauce I ever had. The sauce was tasteless and gnocchi was so soft that it... More

Just had lunch here. Great salad, wonderful soup. The bread is fresh and delicious. I had the filet of sole with a great, light sauce. Came with fresh, wonderfully cooked veggies and wonderful mashed potatoes. I love this place!

The real deal, no hipsters in sight. The food was quality east-coast Italian. They probably haven't changed the menu in 20 years and that is just fine with me.
