Still great after all those years

We discovered this restaurant when we lived around the corner at the Woodlake complex. That was 13 years ago. We finally made it back to the bay area this year, though just on vacation, and for sure we had planned to pay our favorite restaurant from back then a visit. It was exactly as we memorized... read more

Located in a nice neighborhood near Burlingame Ave. shops + a freeway entrance to 101, this Celia's is a large restaurant with a separate bar area and room for large parties; plenty of comfy booths. They cook all their own meats, beans, chips and salsa daily, and offer quick bites as well as large combination plates. Take your time to... More

You can't go wrong with Celias for that constant decent meal. Service is quick and the staff is always friendly. This is a can't miss place, never a bad meal. The down side is that Celias is not and has never been great. If your looking for something special, you won't find it here.

This place was delicious, the food was out very quick and the waiters were all very friendly. The portions of food were very generous and very fairly priced. There were plenty of vegetarian options aswell as seafood and ofcourse chicken, pork, and beef choices. I was greeted with a smile and offered a booth or table of our choice. Refills... More

We were a party of 20 and they handled us beautifully. The food is really good, service excellent, and prices reasonable.

Seriously, the mole is amazing. I came here as a kid when they still had velvet paintings on the walls. The decor is still really - cheerful - and the food is seriously good. Big plates of food, endless chips and salsa, what more do you want? Don't come here unless you're hungry.

This is a family friendly restaurant. As it turned out, we visited two in San Mateo. The Campus Rd, one is new, in a strip mall. Both provided good, friendly service and good, made to order, fresh Mexican food. We met with people we wanted to have a nice conversation with, and were able to get a quiet location with... More

The food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I loved the mole enchilada. They even surprised us with a birthday dessert, enough for all four of us to share. Service was good. We had a great time.

hands down, celia's, especially this location has the best mexican food. we all know that. which is why i held a family gathering there. luckily, it was close family and no one was really affected by the screw-ups, but i knew about them, and it was disconcerting, having to double-check everything along the way. i had requested the small room... Celia's in San Mateo is a fairly large Mexican Restaurant that was established in 1968. As some other reviews have said Parking is a bit of an issue as there are no where near enough Parking spots outside the Restaurant for it's size but I managed to park in a side road opposite. The décor is typical 'loud' Mexican style... More
