Upon moving to the area this was one of the first restaurants we tried out, and we sure fell in love! Closely located to the movie theater and the parking garage it's right in downtown San Mateo. We love the Deluxe Burrito and the Chicken Nacho's. Super delicious with lots of flavor. The food tasted really fresh as well and... More

Look no further. If you're on a budget or just want to have authentic and delicious Mexican food, go to La Cumbre. My son has been going here since he was in high school and has tried many of the restaurants in the area. When he comes back from school this is his first stop after we pick him up... More

Like it was seen in a previous review . There are tons of Mexican food in the area and this is one of the better . When i am working in San Mateo I do go there . It gets crazy around lunch time so be aware of that

Every time I come to San Mateo I need to eat here. Not much of a sit down atmosphere so I get it to go. I love the Chicken Fajita Burrito. Good value too.

This is not a fancy place and, frankly, they could really use a little sprucing up. That said, the food is consistently excellent. Burritos and tacos are terrific - great fllavors, fresh ingredients. Counter staff is very pleasant. Well priced

A san mateo landmark, these are the best burritos is town. Wonderful grilled chicken, choice of beans and salsa. I always get a burrito that tastes just the way I want it. This place is part of my son's growing up. We love it.

La Cumbre has been around for years, with a very loyal clientele. But in an area with a multitude of latin restaurants, it needs to keep up. Old and/or broken chairs and tables does not necessarily give a place 'ambiance'. Portion are getting smaller and taste starting to miss the mark. Old customers need to make a few remarks!

Heard about this place from a show on the travel channel and it lived up to the hype. Huge burritos with very fresh ingredients! Carne asada was amazing!

If I just watched their TV commercial I'd avoid them, but they are a good taqueria in a prime spot in San Mateo. There is plenty of parking, they are near the train station, and booths are big and clean. I like that I can see the grill guy making my carne asada. Typical taqueria food at good prices.
