This establishment has a "New York" style to it, albeit, the name Central Park. It's a classy Italian restaurant with an outstanding menu. Each member of our party of four had meals that were truly exquisite in presentation and taste. What a delight! This is a "must try" in San Mateo.

My husband comes here frequently for lunch - has the lamb sandwich and cole slaw - doesn't even look at the menu, he just loves it. We went with friends this week and two of had the pumpkin ravioli's. The sauce was good, could have been a bit more buttery (can't believe I said that) and it was nice touch... More

The quality of the food was not worth putting up with the unprofessional antics of Robert, one of their managers. Screamed at our party of 8. Added charges to our credit card after we left. We are initiating a dispute with our credit card company. Stay away if you are more than 2 in your party-stay away period unless you... More

I had dinner with some friends here. Funny that all four of us zeroed in on their seared scallops risotto and we were not disappointed. It was delicious. The host and attendants are very friendly and diligent. The place has plenty of outside parking and pleasing ambiance inside. The one thing I did not like is that they were pretty... More

We had a birthday dinner here in August - three of us ordered the special which was a Buffalo Tri Tip and one had the seared scallops. Each meal was delicious - fresh ingredients, not too heavy handed with sauce, right temperature when served. For appetizers we had the Wood Oven Slow Roasted Pork Belly and Calamari - both were... This restaurant has mastered the art of combining the finest, freshest ingredients with the culinary talent to present an outstanding dining experience. Excellent waitstaff, nice pour from the bar and not a too uptight atmosphere to enjoy it all.

Once again I found this a place that you can have a fine dining experience for lunch - wide range of choices, excellent preparation of food, good service, a nice place you can count on for a get-together with a friend or a special lunch. We enjoyed the delicious bread and herb butter; my ravioli with peas and cheese and... More

A very pleasant restaurant. Had a business dinner with 8 in their handsome private dining room/wine cellar on the main floor. Service was attentive and serious. The owner knew his CA wines (good choice, few from Europe or elsewhere though). Food was mixed. Some exquisite (calamari) some OK. Portions were very small. I think they counted each gnocchi. My main... More

Met up with family in San Mateo. Didn't expect the preparation, ingredients and creativity to be so high in San Mateo (being an SF food snob). Great wine list too!
