I had the salt and pepper calamari and the mahi mahi sliders with fries. Both delicious and I was full. My wife had a spinach salad with the grilled halibut and loved both. She was full. Bill before tip including 2 ice teas was $66. We sat on back covered patio which is nicely shielded from wind with plex glass.... More

I started going to the fish market in the early 90's (Palo Alto restaurant) when I was visiting the area for business and have made it a regular spot for solid seafood. I know live in the area and I still go a few times a year and my favorite dish is the smoked fish platter and a beer. I... More

We go there often. The food I chose is always good. We bring friends here too. We try to go early for dinner, buy the time we leave the place is packed. They have some really good fish entree's. I really love the avocado stuffed crab salad. I am very spoiled living here and getting the Dungines Crab. My husband... More

I went here with 2 co workers. All 3 of us were impressed. Definitely make a reservation cause you will have a 45min wait without one. The fish was grilled perfectly and the lemon sauce was fantastic. Key lime pie is made in house and fantastic. So save room for desert

Sat up stairs and had a lovely meal overlooking the water. The crab and shrimp pasta and beet salad were fantastic. The wine selection was heavenly.

Unless you splurge for their Top of the Market above the main restaurant, this is basically a very fresh fish house and market. Expensive in the market, but it is truly fresh! Good raw bar and drinks. Entrees are all good. Not sauced mostly. In other words, plain, but cooked properly, which is essential with fresh seafood. Often a long... More

Love the smoked fish platter. Lots of yummy tastes and dipping sauces. Had the calamari and it was tasty too along with a great sweet and sour dipping sauce. Had a yummy martini that was perfectly made to my instructions. Nice and tart - the Gimlet. The other people also enjoyed their dishes. The only thing that didn't taste special... More

We like to go to the fish market for lunch, the setting is nice because it is on a lagoon. The fish is always fresh and their house brand chardonnay is a very good deal. If you like fish, this is the place to go in San Mateo.
