great view - seating by the water. The food and wait staff are superb - quiet (outdoors at least) clean and food was exceptional. highly recommended and will repeat.

While staying in Foster City on a working vacation, I ventured into an old favorite, The Fish Market. I am well acquainted with this restaurant, having dined here since the 1990's! And I am happy to say that the meals never disappointed in the past, and remain just as good as ever, today! I actually ate here twice during that... More

After a very long drive, my wife wanted fresh seafood once more prior to flying out of San Francisco. The restaurant is in a lovely waterfront setting with beautiful flowers, seagulls at the pier and ducks, etc. The food was perfectly prepared, the service good and the staff friendly. A great end to a great trip to the USA.

My husband and I were in San Francisco for the weekend. We were staying south of the city in Brisbane with nothing around us but deserted office buildings (because it was Saturday). The hotel provided us with a list of restaurants only reachable by car. We settled on The Fish Market, about a 15 minute drive. We arrived, without reservations,... More

My wife had the Ono and I had the prawns on a skewer. Both dishes were good except for the fact that they were both very very spicy. Too much black pepper was used on both dishes. Overall we were satisfied with our dinner.

On a recent weekend trip to California, we spent our last night at a hotel near San Francisco Int'l. Airport. Having not gotten our fill of seafood, we decided to try a widely acclaimed seafood restaurant, The Fish Market in San Mateo. It was a good choice! Our reservation was for 6pm, and we arrived a few minutes before that... More

We sat upstairs overlooking the lagoon. Great View. Seafood appetizers and drinks were awesome. Server was very attentive.

Amazing number of seafood choices such as 4 different seafood cocktail options, numerous crab items, and so many fish entrees. Enjoyed the crab cocktail and Crab Louie with Fish Market Bloody Mary containing Absolut Peppar Vodka, chilled prawn, and spicy green bean, which had a nice kick. Prompt service. Ate out on the dock with a nice view overlooking the... More

Large selection of seafood from all over north america- done perfectly, and delicious- they know what they are doing! Casual and friendly atmosphere. Prices a bit on the high side (40 for lobster or crab), but abundant portions and properly cooked.

I usually stop here on each trip . Never been disappointed . This trip was no different . I had the Cappiano and it was excellent . Although this is the first time I was able to finish everything . I was disappointed with the clam chowder as it was cold and slightly under cooked . Also the garlic bread... More
