Go before you are starving. We waited a good 10 minutes to be offered anything at our table. Drinks arrived and thankfully a basket of awesome sourdough bread that kept us going. We did eventually have great meals at a good value. Tilapia dinner and skewered shrimp dinners were great! Fresh roasted vegetables and coleslaw were worth the wait. Outdoor... More

In an unfamiliar city, Trip Advisor lead us to a great choice. Excellent views on the dock looking over the inlet. Service was first class and the bar poured very heavy drinks. Order the crab or any of the fresh seafood.

After dining here, I understand why this is a top rated San Mateo restaurant. Easy to find, lots of parking, and food to die for. The freshness is tasteable, if that could be a word. We enjoyed oysters and Manhattan chowder (loaded with clams) as our starters. My son ordered the salmon, and loved every bite. My Alaskan halibut was... More

I attended w/ my husband and two of his co-workers. We were able to sit outside by the water which was beautiful. I had the lemon pepper caper sauced sole and it was delicious...my sides of potatoes and roasted vegetables were alright. Edamame appetizer was tasty! Calamari was described as pretty good by my husband. (I don't like.) Overall, enjoyable... More

Great fresh food. Menu changing daily according to what's been caught. Staff are approachable and willing to help guide choices, eg, likes/dislikes, portion sizes.

Been coming here since 1985 and I still think this is the best place on the peninsula for seafood. I just wish they would have a better selection of beers on tap. Also the oysters on the half shell for $ 1.50 each on the happy hour is not cheap. You can go to a lot of places in S.F.... More

We went out with a friend from Foster City and I checked out Trip Advisor to pick out a restaurant. The Fish Market was listed as the number 2 restaurant. So we went there as it was less than 10 minutes away. We got a table right next to the water. It took about a month to read the menu,... More

We came here on vacation while staying at the westin hotel at the airport and there was an abundance of fresh fish choices and reasonable priced for the San Francisco area. Had the salmon and was divine. Will be comming back on our next visit to San Francisco.

This restaurant is located on the banks of a small lagoon with a nice view and has a glass-enclosed seating area. I was with an extremely large party so I was impressed with the excellent service we received. Waiters were constantly on hand, refilling our drinks and bringing more bread and butter. Be sure to order the hot cheese bread... More

The Fish Market is the place to go if you want very fresh seafood. The seafood is on display in the display case if you want to buy fresh fish to take home. The restaurant is large and well managed. The fresh fish can not be beat. Even though this is a California chain they know how to do it.
