I've been here twice. Once with a group of girlfriends for dinner and another with a big group of coworkers for lunch. Service is quick and place is a bit dingy. I tried the food but I really did not care for any of the meat and other ingredients. I find the meats with funky taste specially the lamb. The... More

Known internationally for the hot pot that was originated from Inner Mongolia and with several hundred locations, this Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot finally but quietly opened its location by Union Square in heart of downtown San Francisco. Hot pot is known for boiling raw food (mostly thinly sliced meat and vegetables) in the broth on an electric stove. It... More

I've heard good things about this place. The reviews didn't disappoint. The broth was rich and flavorfull, and overall fun to treasure hunt for bits of goodness hidden in this pot of yummy goodness. Word of warning, the spicy hot was really spicy, even after straining out a bunch of hot red peppers. This is a really fun place for... More

From a hot pot restaurant, you really expect just three things: 1. Good soups 2. Fresh meat / vegetables 3. Quick service This restaurant checks all the boxes.

Was one of the last to be seated before the kitchen closed. The wait was extremely long for one person. The front desk estimated 20 minutes which was really twice as long. The food was okay but expensive for one person and not worth the wait.

We had a group of 8 and arrived 15 minutes before they opened. There was a rush to be seated by the 75 or so who arrived by opening time. Nonetheless, the service was quite good and the food was bought to the table rather quickly. It was a wonderful experience cooking all the meats and vegetables in the hot... More

Chinese hot pot hasn't entirely taken off in America yet. There have been a few places, often with frozen meat and spiceless broth. Little Sheep is a Chinese chain, and it's just like a mid-range place in Beijing. It's good with friends and a lot of beer, good for unwinding after a sales trip. Can be a little loud in... More

the staff is one of the greatest that we have ever had. The food is fresh and true to the title of a hot pot. We recommend it to anyone who like great food

I was craving hotpot after returning to the states from China so I went to Little Sheep Mongolian Hot Pot in San Mateo. It was very good and similar to what I got while living in China. It was much easier to order as everyone spoke English:) I will be looking for other locations when I travel.

Each table has a hot element installed so you can cook your own food in the chicken broth which it provided. You can select spicy, mild or a combination pot with two types of broth. It is fun but not a place we return to often.
