The renowned art of dry aging finally arrives in San Mateo, as our new dry aging window is now completed. We are proud to be the only restaurant on the Peninsula (In between San Francisco & San Jose) to have an in-house dry aging facility. Our new menu featuring these marvelous cuts of beef is now available. Tasting menus featuring these exceptional steaks will also be offered. To accompany your steak, our Wine List celebrates the acclaimed wines of Napa Valley, Willamette Valley, France and Italy. In addition to our steak and chop offerings, our Chef provides for a daily selection of fresh fish and seafood. Whether you are having a romantic dinner, entertaining some friends and family, having a business meeting, or hosting a private party, we will provide you with the ideal setting for your next outing.

Great surprise and Beef, Beef and Beef

The meat choices are excellent, if the have the dry aged beef--have it. The steaks, rib eye and porterhouse are excellent our group had them all. Large portions and good service. The wine list is good, with variety and strength in the reds. The atmosphere is like an old steak house, a little... read more

Wife, sister, and I enjoyed a dinner at Porterhouse in June 2015. I engaged the online reservation option found here on TA and it worked flawlessly. I was a little concerned about finding the place after having read some of the reviews but it was in no way problematic. You can park in the adjacent public garage and have quick... More

While staying at a hotel near SFO, my wife, adult son, and I decided to forego the Marriott Hotel restaurant and instead try something a bit more upscale. This brought us to the Porterhouse in San Mateo. The entrance to the actual restaurant is at the end of a corridor. The ambiance of the dining area is sort of Capital... More

What a great restaurant. It is in a bit of an odd location hidden down a corridor. Also the toilets/restrooms are the other side of the corridor to the restaurant. But that aside it's really good. The choice of steaks was very impressive and our table of 6 had a mixture of the fayre available, 3 of us going for... More

Excellent steak I would have ordered the prime rib but it was to big even if we would have split the dish. Everything was good, even the cocktails not every place knows how to make a French Martini! Our waiter was very nice and helpful. Be prepared to spend some money but it's worth it especially for a special occasion.

Good restaurant, but certainly not the best steak I've ever ate. A bit tired and slow service for the prices.

We have not been to this restaurant since it was the old Bogies. We loved the ambiance. Loved the food and we had very good service from our waiter named Matt. Also, Bruno, the manager and owner, was very cordial. He showed us around and was proud of the décor of the restaurant, the new enclosed patio and the bar.... More

We saw this steak house advertised on Travel Zoo. We didn't purchase that special but decided to give this restaurant a try since it is close to home and we always love a great steak house. Many of the reviews spoke highly of the steaks here so we tried it out on a Friday night. There were no problems making... More
