Better this time

We ate here a few months back and the food was good and flavorful but what we ordered (kabobs) was a bit dry. This time we tried the stewed lamb and the grilled half chicken and they were a better choice. Service was very good and portions are good size.

Delightful place with live music and dancers. Great service. Beer and wine to boot. Had moussaka, mezza combo platter and mjadra (lentils and rice), which came with a lovely green salad. As much pita bread as you would like and a complimentary tzaziki like dip. All were really tasty and large portion size. We will definitely go back. Prices are... More

Everything on the menu is ridiculously flavorful. Starting with the hummus and ending with the baklava. I was not looking forward to dining here since Lebanese food I have eaten in USA has been very bland and predictable. Not Tannourine. The Baba Ganoush is smoky and fresh. My husband had the 3 different kebobs and they were delicious. Highly, highly... More

Another great restaurant in San Mateo. My wife was in San Francisco for a convention and my job was to research great restaurants. I read the reviews and since my wife loves Mediterranean, I thought this would be perfect. To my surprise it was the best I have ever eaten. The portions were double what you usually get on an... The best part of the restaurant was the food. Some of it was very good and some of it could be better. I'd rate the food as 3.5 overall. For example, I really enjoyed the flat bread and dip that was served when we were initially seated. I also enjoyed the eggplant appetizer. On the flip side, we had a... More

Love their food, but... I made a reservation today for 11:15 am to find a sign on the door saying closed for private party. They never even spoke to me they just waved us away. Came back at 11:30am to give them a piece of my mind. Why? They screwed us. The manager said "You don't have a reservation. This... More

Great food, service was very slow, staff was friendly and helpful. Lamb shanks were excellent. BUT carefully review your check. They automatically added 20% gratuity and provided a "TIP Assist" calculation on the check. If you unknowing added a 20% tip based on the "TIP Assist" your total tip would be 44% based on the compounding effect because you'll be... More

We had an early dinner so it was quiet and not very busy. The food was tasty but my kebobs were a bit dry. Really liked the flat bread and dip to start. Service was good and we will try again but order something with sauce. We hear the lamb shanks are very good.

This restaurant has an open concept with a variety of table choices. The tables have tablecloths. It seems to be a family run business. We had heard about the mezza plate which is an appetizer sampler. There was a huge confusion with our order. We were under the impression that we could each order our choices of 3 cold and... More

The place could use some boost in its ambience - like music. Food is average but the lamb shank I am told is really good. My veg stew was a let down. Desserts should be avoided. The baklava was frozen thawed. The rice pudding was also quite lacking in taste. Prices certainly on the higher side.
