We found this place when the wait for a table was too long at a nearby restaurant. I like the way BJ's set our expectation on how long the wait would be, including giving us a light-up pager that let us know when our table was ready. BJ's is good for families because they have kids portions, including our family... More

Yes, it's a chain brew-pub, and yes the food is pretty average, although I have a terrible weakness for the honey-crisp chicken salad and berry cider. But they have a decent gluten-free menu that includes pizzas and, most importantly, the warm chocolate chip cookie served in a skillet with ice cream! It's so rare to find a real gluten-free dessert... More

I generally have an aversion to what I would call "corporate restaurants," chains that don't represent an individual vision but represent the marketeers' concept of a restaurant carefully designed to appeal to the broadest demographic with trendy combinations of ingredients. However, even if not being cutting edge original, such restaurants can offer good food at a reasonable price. While BJ's... More

The location is close to everything and the menu has many different options and good variety. Service and food quality is always consistent here.

Recently I went to this place for a business dinner along with colleagues. I really liked the place. As soon as we reached the place, we were seated immediately and the person who was hosting us (unfortunately, did not get his name), was very courteous. We first placed an order for drinks and started looking at the Menu. They had... More

Its a good place to have meat or texmex. Had a good time doing a late lunch, with a nice beer while watching the premiership on the big screens.

I've only been to another BJ's (Roseville, CA) and the experience there wasn't that great. But here in San Mateo we ate here three times in three days, because the food and service were so good. There's a reason why this place is so busy, the great variety on the menu, the well trained staff, the well mixed drinks at... More

The food is pretty good. The service is a bit on the slow side. There was three of us there for dinner. We were seated in a booth and it smelled like someone had thrown up in it. We moved ourselves and informed our food server. We ordered some adult beverages and and an appetizer. We got the appetizer before... More

This was my first trip to a BJ's, and it will not be my last. The food is absolutely outstanding -- huge variety, flavorful dishes, all beautifully presented. BJ's is a great example of a chain restaurant where the offerings have been invented by a hugely talented team of modern day chefs. The menu includes several truly delicious low calorie... More

We were traveling on business and stopped in for a quick lunch. The menu is large and the prices are reasonable. The service was good and it was a nice atmosphere. The restaurant was crowded but we were still able to have lunch for three people and were out of there within 45 minutes. Two of us had pizza flatbread... More
