My wife and I love going to phils! The meats are flavorful and the price of the food does not break the bank. The onion rings are some of the best I have ever had! I got the tri tip and my wife got the chicken! All delicious!

This restaurant popped up as one of the top restaurants in San Marcos so we decided to give it a try. So glad we did. The food was excellent and we couldn't have asked for better service.

We really liked everything we had. But it is very popular so (thanks to the kids) we went early. By 7 the line is out the door - and that would not be an issue but you have to circle the dining room and hunt for a table. You need to order alcohol separately at the bar. Two entrees was... More

Phil's is kind of a local institution in Point Loma so when we got one in North County we were very excited. The wait times have definitely calmed down since it opened but you can still get stuck in a long line at the wrong time. They do have a line camera on the web page so check it out... More

From the wait in line, to the noise, to having to go get your food after sitting down and running out of sweet tea, I did not enjoy this place at all. The food was ok (didnt care for the sauce or coleslaw) but for what you pay, it is what it is. Order take out and pick up to... More

We have nothing bad to say about Phil's, it was very good. The baby back ribs were excellent, the chicken was very good, slaw & fries....rounded off a great BBQ supper. A must return in our books.

Local friends highly recommended Phil's BBQ. They raved about the large portions, low prices and good food. That is a good, accurate summary. We were told lines and waiting time could be quite long. Accordingly we arrived for lunch at 11:30 and were seated immediately. However, in the outdoor queue area was a sign saying IF YOU ARE HERE it... More

You can never go wrong with Phils. Their broham sandwiches are the best and can be shared between two people.

Phil's Broham is a great sandwich with pulled pork, cole slaw and a yummy bun. We usually get it to go since the wait can be long. The restaurant is easy to work with and you generally wait for pick up food for about 10 minutes after arriving. They plate everything fresh after you pay.

We hadn't had Phil's BBq since January of 2013 because we moved to the East Coast. Was tempted to have some shipped to me on several occasions but resisted. True to form, Phil's does it right! Plan on returning again and again.
