I have eaten at Mama's a couple of times and have to recommend. The last time I was there it was to entertain clients from Brazil and the experience couldn't have been better. The staff is knowledgeable, attentive and pleasant to be around. The food rivals the best Italian restaurants in all of California. If you want a nice quiet... More

Located in a dark alley, it has the restrooms on the outside(a little scary), and is pretty small. And in November the temperature inside was too cold. I guess that is why it was almost empty. Regardless, the decoration was romantic, with a setting like an Italian square. Very appealing. The whole staff was italian I believe and what was... More

We had a delightful Italian dinner at this hidden gem run by an extended family from Puglia. We enjoyed the pasta of the day which was a spaghetti cooked with chard in a tomato sauce and one of the light delicious meatballs added and the winter squash gnocchi. They were both of the highest quality and the pastas where cooked... More

My husband and I have vacationed in California for over 20 years. Without a doubt, this meal was one of the best ever. I had the rack of lamb. Cooked to perfection. Accompanied by the very best scalloped potatoes ever, with grilled carrots and broccoli. I even ate the broccoli!!! My husband had the freshly made linguine with pesto and... More

We are a very picky family when it comes to Italian food, and Mama's Meatball TripAdvisor search. Mama's came up - it's a little hard to find, but we used the car GPS and the address from TripAdvisor and had no problem. The gnocchi was amazing and the Garlic Knots - oh, I couldn't get enough of them!!!! They are... More

Very good dishes. Excellent Barley, Lentil, and Lamb soup. Excellent Chicken dishes with real flavor. Very small; make sure you have reservations! The ambiance is that of an "outside restaurant in Italy".

We discovered Mamas Meatball after my granddaughter had lived I. SLO for the last six years. It's kinda tucked away behind other buildings in a hard to find spot downtown and has very little parking. However, the food is great! The garlic knots are the best bread you could ever ask for and the beet salad is unbelievable! I have... More

Mama's has awesome food. Very authentic and full of flavor. I have been here 4 times in the last couple of years and I am disappointed that I didn't know about this place sooner. The only complaint I have is that they need a bigger building because on busy nights it is hard to get a table. Recommendations: linguine al... More

We was a group of 9. It was a Sat. and we were given a menu that had specials that were only good during the week. When told, we revised our choices. The waiter got 2 of the 9 orders wrong. I ordered a meatball sandwich and got spaghetti and meatballs. We had to wait while the others were served,... More

Mama's Meatball is our choice for a delicious meal in a casual setting. The menu has a a nice variety of entrees including individual pizzas. Most of the ingredients used are fresh and locally sourced. If you are in a hurry, they also have take out.
