Splash cafe is well known for its clam chowder and fish and chips. It is casual and family friendly. Parking is convenient.
Had dinner. Staff very friendly. Fast service for food. No seats available so finally sat at an outside table on a dark and cold night. No lights or heaters turned on outdoors even tho several of us were there. Fish and chips not good. Fish was chewy and tough...either under or over-cooked. I could only eat fish by coating in... More

Great place to grab coffee and local pastries. Lots of families and locals so you know it's a good place to stop. Right in the heart of the downtown area, so lots of great things to look at while walking up and down the streets. We only had coffee and pastries, so can't review much else. A fun place in... More
I was really excited to try the clam chowder after checking out their website and reviews. A bit disappointed. It was overly salty to me. It's nice and thick, though! And the bread bowl was tasty and fresh. My daughter had a really good salad but I probably wouldn't return.
This very eclectic eatery offers everything from excellent burgers to artisan desserts. The mango iced tea is surprisingly good. I highly recommend this place. The staff is friendly, helpful, and fast.
The location is very convenient, close to majority of the hotels and downtown, their food is good. Good parking, The price is ok for the value. Lots of pastries to pick from. Omelet was super yummy, with all the options they had extra to put on. Super casual and nice environment.
We spotted this place on a walk into town from our hotel and decided to call in for breakfast. Parking was available at the back. The server was very friendly. Scrambled eggs, bacon and sourdough toast with coffee for 3 people was about $20 dollars total which I thought was great value given the quantity and the quality of the... More
Outdoor seating -- a bit narrow, but dog-friendly; parking lot side (adjacent to Petit Soleil B&B next door) is sunny and warmer, sidewalk tables on Calif St side is shaded (at least from Oct morning sun). Staff all seemed very friendly and pleasant. Enjoyed their take on French Dip sandwiches; not the typical classic, but on their own bread and... More
Cute decor & friendly staff - but clam chowder was luke warm & extremely thick - more like a porridge. Salmon tacos looked good but were basically tasteless - thankfully there was a bottle of hot sauce on the table. Curly fries were tasty but overall there are so many great lunch spots in SLO this isn't one for us.
