We arrived Sunday morning at 11:01. Because the breakfast menu is only until 11, the order taker at the counter told me I could no longer order a breakfast burrito. I watched the cooks making all sorts of breakfast foods, and wondered if the order taker would be better off managing train departures at the depot. I settled for a... more

My family and I had heard such great things about the Clam Chowder from this place, All we went to eat was the chowder so we got the sourdough bread bowl, very dissapointed.... We've had much better...left pretty dissapointed, oh well but atleast now we know where NOT to go for clam chowder. On the brightside, the service was really... more

Without question, the chowder is the highlight of Splash Cafe. Having been to this one and the original location in Pismo Beach, it seems of equal quality, though there might have been more potato in the SLO location. Flavor was still excellent. They give you the entire section of the bread bowl that they cut out (and I definitely recommend... more

My son and I took a road trip from Orange County to Monterey last week and we saw "Splash Cafe" advertised on the TV hotel channel at Embassy Suites in San Luis Obispo. I ask the front desk if they were any good and she highly recommended it. I had the Clam chowder in a sourdorgh bowl and decided on... more

I have only eaten breakfast at this cafe. It's so good that I eat at this cafe every time that I am in SLO. It's a great place to have some coffee while reading the paper. My favorite thing to eat is the French Toast. It's made on fresh cinnamon bread. This place is so reasonble. I can't wait to... more

Informal dining on a budget dosn't have to be plain or boring, and the Splash Cafe & Bakery continues to prove it. We stopped in after visiting the elephant seals at San Simeon beach last month (late afternoon) and found Splash as good as ever. This 2nd location at 1491 Monterey St. (at California St.) in SLO (sister to the... more

First of all I would like to mention that the address on this website is a little deceiving; there is a Splash in Pismo Beach by the pier as well as one in town in San Luis Obispo. This place is mine and my boyfriend's favorite place to eat and usually our trips down to SLO are motivated by the... more

This place was so charming, so inexpensive, and hit the spot. My only regret is that I didn't get the Ahi Tuna Sandwich that my husband got-I tried it and it is EXCELLENT. The iced mango tea is great, the service is great, and there is lovely outdoor dining. (if you can get a seat!) It IS really busy here... more

There is a line out the door to this inexpensive, very casual, restaurant. The claim to fame is the ( white and thick) clam chowder. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. The chowder is made on the premises, and is put in a toasted sour dough bread bowl. Reasonable priced and very filling other kinds of foodsserved too,... more
