4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 21, 2013 NEW

We had dinner at Ciopinot while visiting SLO the first week in May. Get this: the salmon was caught THAT DAY on the owner's brother's boat. No lie! I of course opted for this ultra fresh salmon and it was delicious. I unfortunately couldn't have any of the dipping sauces that came with (glutenous) but the chef hooked me up... More

had dinner at both Novo and Ciopinot and would definitely go back to both, but first choice would have to be Novo - Novo deck is beautiful, but food, service and overall experience at Ciopinot was first rate. Was worried about service after reading other reviews and it was a little slow, but it was a Saturday during graduation (I... More

We chose to eat here based on the tripadvisor reviews but we found it underwhelming. The staff was really friendly and the place has a great look and vibe but the food was just average. Its not that the food was bad it just wasn't great and for those prices it should be better than average.

After reading all the rave reviews of this restaurant, i decided to give it a try even though it is more expensive than we normally would like to spend on a dinner. My biggest complaint is the ultra salty food. I ordered Grilled Fisherman's plate. The rice was very salty, jumbo scallop was excellent (best among all in the plate),... More

We were seated in a quiet corner on the patio, near two heat lamps for warmth, as the weather was quite cool. The server was very professional and expert at describing all of the specials without any notes. The service was very attentive, and the "no-work" cioppino was outstanding! (By "no-work," it meant that you did not have to shell... More

Traveled down the coast and stopped at Hearst Castle. After a long day it was so nice to sit in a quiet restaurant with a peaceful atmosphere and enjoy a delicious dinner. I had sole and my husband had cioppino. The food was yummy. Our waitress was attentive, friendly and just chatty enough.

This is a classy seafood restaurant with a lively bar scene. The menu selections are ample, but everything is very pricey. The fish was delicious, but there are places in town with equally good fish at half the price.

Let me start off by saying we found this restaurant by accident and walked in on a busy Saturday night and they still sat us! The best place to sit is outside, even on a chilly coastal evening the heaters keep you warm! The server was a little odd, but the food was so fabulous that the service really did... More

Ambience and food were good. My husband loved the clam chowder. My PEI mussels were tastey, but lukewarm. The blueberry cobbler was great. The wait staff was over attentive and basically trying too hard. Prices seemed a bit steep and there was an element of pretension that made our evening something less than excellent.
