Well Worth the High Reviews

My wife and I ate here last Saturday evening and again Sunday morning. As others have said, the menu is quite varied. The key for us was that they have many options for my wife who eats gluten-free. The veggies were very fresh and the use of spices was just prefect. We had the veggie rolls and... read more

I went to Big Sky Cafe for lunch with my mom right after my plane landed in San Luis Obispo. I was ready for a good meal after flying all morning. My parents frequent the cafe and I was happy to be trying it for the first time. It was a beautiful, breezy day on the Central Coast, so we... More

Very nice restaurant in the old section of SLO. We went at 11 in the morning. I wanted breakfast, my son wanted lucy and my husband wanted brunch. This place had it all. I had oatmeal with dried suit, my son had a chicken sandwich and fries and my husband had eggs and potatoes. Great food, good service, nice location... More

I have been going to Big Sky for many years. The past two visits, I broke form and tried two new dishes. I love that the chef's regularly keep reinventing the menu, with new dishes, featuring a variety of ingredients. The menu is still "southwest" oriented, but a fusion of dishes with asian and european elements offers a series of... More

I recently visited Saint Louis Obispo. While at a wine tasting I asked where could I get a nice meal - Big sky Cafe was the quick answer. I roll with a diverse crowd of eaters - a vegetarian, a serious carnivore or three and we all love our wines... different colors and varietals. When we got there is was very... More

Very pleasant place. You may need reservations, since it fills up pretty quickly. The food was good, but not exceptional.

We tried this place for breakfast last time we went to SLO. It's a big place and tables are nicely spread around, so nobody is right next to you. The service is very welcoming and friendly, prices are average and the food we tried was good. The coffee is bad, but we are coffee snobs, so it depends, it might... More

The food is local and well made, the breakfasts were unique, not the normal stuff. Also, it's the only wine bar we could dine open on Sunday. Lots of local wines, great to try a few out. And, the prices points are lower than the other places, typically $7.50 for a glass or $25 for a bottle.

We read the favorable reviews, parked by the museum, paid the meter and walked the few blocks over there. We enjoy all types of atmospheres; a beach-front one day, a small mom-pop place, 5-star, we love them all, so we were not sure what to expect when we first walked in, hate to use the term Red-Necky perhaps it was... This little place is quite a find...located pretty much downtown San Luis Obispo, we were lucky friends recommended it. I had the bacon/apple/blu cheese omelet, which was delicious. My wife had her favorite "out of town breakfast", bacon and eggs over easy...they were, cooked to perfection. Highly recommend going there at least once if in SLO.
