Welcome to Palazzo Giuseppe’s, downtown San Luis Obispo! Our Italian regional specialties are indicative to the Pugliese region in Italy, particularly Bari, a seaport on the Adriatic Sea from which most of our recipes originate. We hope you will enjoy and appreciate our great loyalty to the distinctive dishes, all of which we prepare with genuine and natural ingredients and methods. Our bread is baked from scratch every day in a wood-burning oven imported from Italy. Each loaf is made by hand, allowed to rise four times and slow-cooked to achieve the truly rustic appearance and taste you would find in a Baresi seaside village. DiFronzo is dedicated to producing & growing as many heirloom, organic vegetables, & fruits from his family farm as possible. Gelato, pizzas, & specialties including his estate grown Pinot Grigio, Pinot Noir, & Syrah. All of this takes time but to us it is an art and a labor of love. We are truly committed to bringing you "cucina genuina."

Dinner on my own

Conveniently located on one of the main drags in SLO, this gem was as wonderful as I hoped it would be. A lively atmosphere, friendly staff, and a great wine list. Local wines are exceptional in SLO. I had a fresh roasted beet and goat cheese salad with a rich, dark balsamic vinegrette. Then I... read more

In town for a daughters birthday and a grandsons colleg graduation. We had eight of us for dinner and arrived ahead of our reservation but were seated promptly. We ate everything from pizza to salad to pasta to entrees. Everyone enjoyed their choices and service was totally above and beyond what we had hoped for. The bread and dipping sauce... More

My wife and I went here for my birthday dinner and had a great experience. We sat in their Martini Lounge (bar area) which was very lively but we were able to get a table. Our waiter was very friendly, knowledgeable, and energetic...even though it was obvious he was waiting on a lot of tables. Her recommended a great regional... More

This restaurant was brilliant. Food great, staff very friendly & helpful. The selection was vast & made the choice difficult but the server described the dishes to a tea & made the decision much easier.

We have been visiting SLO over the past few years while our son is studying here at Cal Poly. This was our first trip to Giuseppe's but it definitely won't be our last. We had the capellini and a couple pizzas and they were wonderful! What really had us raving, was the dipping sauce for their bread...DELICIOUS!! Even our picky... More

Their address is on Court Street, which is really a Paseo, a pedestrian walkway. Parking, as usual in downtown SLO, was a complete nightmare. I chose Giuseppe’s because they serve continuously throughout the day, and I knew I’d be eating a late lunch. I arrived at 3:00, my mouth watering for a wood fire pizza. After my server recited the... More

A lovely Italian restaurant with outdoor seating. We had salads and pasta - yummy! Service was good and not overly attentive. The wine was well priced. Seemed quite popular with locals. I'll come back.

I ate here with my wife, my son and my granddaughter. The food was excellent from the bread and oil dipping sauce to the salads to the entrees. There are several salads to choose from and several different dressings made in house-all were excellent. The entrees were also uniformly very good as was the service. From my experience you can't go... More

The bread was delicious once you get the extra hard ends off. The caprese salad was stacked with delicious flavors of basil, mozza, and balsamic vinegrette. Pure deliciousness. The lamb lollipops were nice and tender with just the right spices. You really can't go wrong here!

We started with happy hour in the bar. Very nice atmosphere, good service, and good snacks. We've had the bar menu food before and its excellent, especially the kobe burger. Tonight we both enjoyed Fruite de mare over linguine and shared a misto dinner salad. This was very good meal for both of us. We'll definitely be back!
