Absolutely loved the small plate concept. The patio was packed so we sat inside both nights. Service was friendly and efficient. First night- we ordered the pork short ribs but they were out and our server suggested the beef tacos. Wow- they were fantastic. The second night we had them again plus the short ribs which were also delicious. Nice... More

We came to kill an hour before meeting a friend at another restaurant. The small plates and tapas were inventive and nicely prepared. The cocktail menu was also full of interesting choices. Everything we ordered was outstanding. We sat at the bar where the bartender was way too busy and without any assistants. The bar was also missing some staple... More

The food was OK, but the wait staff was clueless! Whoever owns and/or manages this restaurant should spend some time there, and perhaps send in a "spy" to check out what's going on from the guest's standpoint.

Small; plates and tapas are our favorite way to eat. There's so much variety and one doesn't have to eat a lot of any one thing. We had a reservation and were seating at the appointed hour. There was a large party next to us, but they were not loud or boisterous. Our server, Trevor, was absolutely wonderful! He had... More

Bottomless Mimosas before noon on Sunday? Sign me up. I stopped here for breakfast/brunch one Sunday and boy was it delicious... homemade ketchup (tasty), fried potatoes (tasty), and a delicious omelet (super tasty). The outdoor dining is fun and casual. Service is a little slow.

We have been here many times and love it. As far as cost, if you go during 'happy hour' the tapas are only $5 each as are a variety of drinks. It is not overpriced. The food is fantastic and that is also true when we have come when it is not 'happy hour.'

Maybe everyone who loves this place has a huge salary. I thought $10. for a small bowl of macaroni a bit much. I paid $12. for a hamburger. While it was good, it was nothing to write home about. Wish I had enough dough to enjoy spending it this way, but I don't. If you want the outdoor experience, sit... More

Luna Red is fantastic! The drinks are creative and delicious and the food is simply amazing. We asked for recommendations once and were told to try the grilled romaine, which I would NEVER have ordered on my own. I ended up sopping up every drop of sauce, and then returned with various combinations of friends to share the secret of... More

We went to Luna Red for Valentines prix fixe dinner, and we had such a good time, we returned the next day for lunch with our son. We tried lots of dishes from crab balls, to risotto, to ravioli, and everything was great. I like their idea of bringing water to the table only if you request it - helps... More

Luna Red is one of my favorite restaurants in San Luis Obispo County. It is related to Novo (also in SLO) and Robin's Restaurant (in Cambria) and I think they have the best assortment of menus available. Luna Red is the casual tapas restaurant of the three choices so you are encouraged to order many small plates to share. They... More
