Description: The cornerstone of our business is cheese steaks: thin-sliced steak, grilled to perfection with your choice of edible accessories, all topped with melting cheese, atop a freshly toasted bun. Perfectly crisp, golden fries are always included with every sandwich. Some customers argue that our cheese chicken sandwiches are even better than the cheese steaks, made with your choice of thigh or breast meat, marinated and flame-broiled to order before it hits the flat-top. Still not convinved? Stop by and try one of San Leandro's best burgers (beef or turkey), sweet and savory teriyaki bowls, or a healthy vegetarian sandwich (aka, "cheese steak—hold the cheese, hold the steak").

Great place to grab a quick bite. Friendly service and made to order Sandwiches and Fries. My favorite is the Deluxe with a touch of Hot Sauce!!!!

Thanks for the glowing review! :) My favorite is also the Deluxe with some Sriracha on it--be sure to try the chicken thigh too if you haven't yet! More

We stopped here after grabbing drinks at Drake's Barrel House because we were all starving and didn't want to wait to get back into Oakland. It took some coaxing from me to get my group to come here but everyone ended up thoroughly enjoying their food. To be honest I can't remember exactly what I ordered, but it was some... More

I love Hoagy Steak! I discovered it on the way back from a friend's house and have been back many times. Today I waited about 15 min since the line was so long, even at 1:30pm. This is a privately owned and operated small business store. The owners are Korean and friendly and they work hard to make the food... More

I would have never considered this place had it not been for good reviews, I stopped by hungry and gave it a try. Hoagy was devoured in less than a minute, that's saying something. I'd recommend it for sure.

Great hole-in-the-wall. Best Cheesesteaks ever. Don't be concerned by the american cheese. It's perfect for their sandwiches. If you're sensitive to salty food, you might want to get the #2 large (adds lettuce & tomatoes). But otherwise I recommend the #1 large. Very cheap. Around $6 for sandwich & fries. And the waters & sodas are only 85 cents.
