Our family loves Sunday brunch at L'Hirondelle Restaurant. The appetizers, soups, salads, entrees and desserts are Old World and wonderfully rich, flavorful and beautifully presented. Having visited the restaurant since it opened more than 20 years ago, we have enjoyed nearly every item on the menu - you cannot make a poor decision. Both the warm, nicely appointed interior and... The atmosphere was warm & cozy. The service was good. I went during lunch time. I chose a meal off the dinner menu vs. lunch menu. I ordered the petite duck breast with the cherry sauce. It was very good, skin was crispy and the meat tender. The sides (Mashed potatoes were good but not what I had ordered). When... More

Whenever we are up near San Juan Capistrano this is a must stop for us. An afternoon on their patio, a bit of heaven, and directly across the street from the Mission and right in the heart of downtown. The lunch menu always has some type of fish that is superb along with the service and the mashed potatoes and... More

The ambience and viewin the patio was very nice, but the food was bad. The escargots were tasteless (unbelievable!) and I do not remember such a bad bread in ages! The dessert was misrepresented as a tart with fresh berries and what was brought was a tart with no berries at all and still frozen. The service unfriendly. A total... More

We happened upon this place while visiting Mission San Juan Capistrano and had lunch there. We were charmed by its cozy ambiance and warm attentive service. The food was delicious! We lingered over lunch enjoying the atmosphere. Highly recommend!

I wanted to take my husband somewhere different for his birthday, which is ON Valentines day. We live in San Diego, and took the AMTRAK up to San Juan Capistrano for a day trip. Since we were there at lunchtime, i wanted something heavy. The Kobe Burger had caramelized Onions and Gorgonzola cheese. It was seriously mouth watering goodness. My... More

We were introduced to this restaurant by friends. The ambiance is very cozy and comfortable and our server was friendly and enthusiastic. Two of our party of six took advantage of the small plates. My husband and I will do the same next time because we each took half of our meals home. He had the rack of lamb and... More
