Fixed price brunch may have ended the lines

I had brunch there the day before Easter, and walked in (party of two) without a reservation. Could be the $40 prix fixe pricing slowed down the business. I thought the price was fair, considering one got a drink, small plate and large plate, and "rented" the table for, in our case, 2.5 hours. We... read more

Was our first time here that our friends frequently come to. It's in the old section of town which has a wonderful charm. The place itself has a great feel and and the food is fantastic! The owner even had a friend in town who gave us a bit of live music. This place has a family feel and won't... More

Great treat when you are visiting SJC. A true original with a beautiful setting and great food. This should be thought of as a special occasion spot, something where you can really take your time, and are willing to try something a bit different. You will be well rewarded!

From the greeter cat to the rustic elegance, this place starts out and never lets up. Breakfast and lunch only, get there early; it is VERY small and intimate. The food is as beautiful as it is delicious and not what you think... I guarantee you have never seen bacon and eggs like this! We had the salmon locks and... More

The Ramos House Cafe is just across the RR tracks and down the road a bit (to the right) in the quaint Los Rios Street district. The rugged setting is charming right down to the pull chain commode in the WC. I nearly left when I saw the lunch prices. Yes, they are higher than what you might want, but... More

The presentation and setting is just an great experience so relax don't be in a rush. They do not serve your tradition ham and eggs. All the "Small Plates" are home made and very in sweetness. Some are soups fruits and then the rich stuff. The "Large Plate" is the main dish and it is all unique. The one I did... More

Decided to try the Ramos House for Sunday Brunch while in town. This is in the historic del rios part of town. The street is lined with multiple small homes and businesses. There isn't a whole lot of parking right on the street, tho we were there early and managed to find a spot. If you're driving you might go... More

My & I had a wonderful Sunday brunch at this historic outdoor cafe. He had the Huevos Rancheros which included black eyed peas and were delicious. Their signature Bloody Mary was great, too. Enjoy the quirky decor and get there early to avoid the line.

A quaint 100 year old home with garden dining. The atmosphere is fabulous. Fresh herbs growing every where. Unique antique decorations. And, the food !! The most incredible lunch I have had any where in the US. I was visiting California from Virginia. Beef Stew was a delicious mix of melt in your mouth beef, creamy blue cheese mashed potatoes,... I love Ramos house. I am a local and always try to take out-of-towners to this hideaway! Aside from the trains, this is a quiet and relaxing place with really good hash! Pricey, just warning you! But delicious and unique cuisine. Not much seating and not sure if they do reservations.
