Great place for special celebrations. Food and service has always been great. Go hungry as you get a lot of food. A little pricey, but go knowing that and you won't be disappointed.

It is always a very relaxing and friendly place to meet friends and share a meal. The food is good and little out of the ordinary. The atmosphere is rustic and quaint.

With friends my wife and I traveled to San Juan Capistrano on Amtrak for a day trip. We explored the small town, mission and then had a delightful lunch at The Ramos House Cafe. What a nice experience. The staff was cordial and offered several ideas for us. To start we had the Apple Cinnamon Beignets, wonderful. My wife and... More

This restaurant is located on the historical walking street of Los Rios, the oldest residential street in California. This restaurant is especially good for breakfast and lunch, but has a unique menu that some may not like. It is also a bit on the pricy side, but it has a very nice and covered patio.

I've been here twice--once on a date. Let me say, the food did not disappoint...as for the date...well...the food was memorable! This is a very charming location. It feels like stepping back in time, and the patio is quaint. Most of the clientele are middle age ladies. The food is so fantastic. The first time, I had the Beef Stew,... More

If you are a visitor to Southern California this is a must see spot. The whole area around this restaurant have some of the oldest and long used buildings in the whole state. Mission, homes, railway station cafes and stores not to mention the butterfly sanctuary. Back to the restaurant. Not a place to go if you are looking for... More

Unusual food offerings...a different take on Mexican dishes. Kale salad interesting and delish. Exotic bloodies and excellent wine choices. Soft blankets to ward off the chill in cooler months. Excellent service.

Delicious Scottish eggs that surprised with taste - creamy hard boiled eggs wrapped in sausage finished in with breadcrumbs they were perfect along warm cinnamon apple beignets & espresso - went on a Friday so had the cafe menu which seemed worth every bite. The other guest were equally impressed with their orders of scrambled eggs with crab hash &... More

This place was the original house so the Ramos family built in 1881. The Los Rios area is the oldest neighborhood street in California. The shops and restaurants are unique to say the least. This place has terrific food and great service. The atmosphere is something else. We had breakfast that was great and the beneis are to die for.

I had brunch there the day before Easter, and walked in (party of two) without a reservation. Could be the $40 prix fixe pricing slowed down the business. I thought the price was fair, considering one got a drink, small plate and large plate, and "rented" the table for, in our case, 2.5 hours. We each had a coffee for... More
