Service, atmosphere, taste, and presentation: All were perfect after a morning touring the mission. My husband and I both ordered the President's special - it looked too good to pass up. Restaurant is very clean. We went for lunch on a busy Friday. The staff were not rushed, and were very friendly. Food came quickly.

After many years living out of the area, last night I had the opportunity to eat at the El Adobe for a special event (250 people in attendance). This restaurant does a great job with large events. The open air meeting room is a very pleasant temperature. The servers are really efficient and do a great job. And for a... More

We recently had a large group do a dinner event in the patio area. We weren't sure how it would work as in the daylight it doesn't have the best feel. However, by the time the group arrived at twilight and the lights were turned on, the roof pulled back and the atmosphere set it was a perfect location. The... More

The El Adobe has been here forever and they have a track record of excellent Mexican food to match. The building is historic, walk in slowly and read all the historic plaques along the way. Enjoy the veranda and the bar. Great food! They also have a courtyard for weddings and large events. The Taste of San Juan had been... More

I was at El Adobe on a very busy Memorial Weekend Sunday but the staff took their time and made sure my visit was very pleasant. Great food and a comfortable, classic environment.

We go here once a year or so and it never changes much and that's it's strongest advantage. The location is beautiful and the place is very well run. There is plenty of parking and the bar and drinks couldn't be better. The decor and wait service are old school spanish and above average. We would go here much more... More

As far as Mexican food goes, this is not my favorite. However sitting in the outdoor area on a week day, drinking margaritas... oh yeah...

If you didn't already know, El Adobe is the old San Juan jail from many years ago. The building is really cool and the food is great! The lobster tacos and the lobster fajitas are worth going there to try but everything is good!

Our family met here for a reunion with a party of twelve. The restaurant is large, nicely decorated, and historic. The building was built around 1797 and was used as a city hall, with a jail in the basement. There are weddings on an outside patio with receptions in a covered dining room. Our service was very good and our... More
