Delicious lunch

After visiting the Mission, we asked the locals for recommendations for Mexican Cuisine. This was the restaurant they suggested. We were not disappointed. The food was delicious and generous portions. I was only disappointed in the Margarita I ordered. It was the special, but $11 for a very... read more

We came here as a group after work. We wanted to see the Mission but got here too late so decided to grab some dinner. The building itself is an old adobe building. The historic sign on the front stated it was from 1840 but apparently there are other parts that are much older. The building itself had been used... More

We have gone to this restaurant for years. Love the ambience especially on weekend when they have live guitarist! The food is much better on weekends. I know this cause have eaten here on Mondays and Tuesdays and food not as fresh/good. Also if you order a special Cadillac margarita with petron silver make sure the older guy with the... More

There were 5 of us and we all enjoyed our meal and the good Mexican beer. The service was great and the dinners were hot and very good. This is a nicely decorated place with a nice sophisticated Mexican ambience.

This is the tried and true Mexican Food Choice for decades. President Nixon ate here. The food choices are top notch, chips and salsa very good, and you can't beat the ambiance of the place. They do wedding receptions here, retirement parties, etc so it's a real fun place to just see and eat.

This historic restaurant is a good place to go for lunch if you are visiting the mission. Food and service were good to somewhat above average. We would certainly consider going back, but would probably look for other restaurants first, just for some variety. Very generous portions; average quality.

El Adobe has been serving great Mexican food since 1948. The building and grounds have been designated as a historical site and is steeped in Old California history. The menu has no doubt undergone changes over the years but if you're looking for straight-forward Mexian fare, slightly Americanized, this is the place. Some authentic dishes such as chicken mole, carnitas... More

Presidents have dined here, but the history is even more interesting. The recipes are authentic and reliable. Enjoy a good margarita also makes this popular a treat.

With such a history, one expects the best. Although the wait staff are wonderful, the food is just so-so. The dining room needs to be spruced up a bit and to not look out on a ragged looking terrace when it is not summer weather. The bar area is cozier and more fun. Please jazz the place up a bit!

We found this restaurant by walking by. My friends and I traveled to San Juan Capistrano by Amtrak to check out the Los Rios Historic District. After soaking up all the history from the late 1700's and early 1800's we walked into the newer part of town and found this historic restaurant for lunch. The northern section was originally the...
