Almost as old as the Spanish mission nearby, this noble kitchen produces fine breads, specialty breads, breakfast pastries, and desserts worthy of its heritage. This is a rustic little place and reminds me of a cartoon I once watched with lots of pastries and cakes in the display cases. I love walking down 3rd street and then getting a pastry at this shop. They are very nice and the food is good.

I had heard so many friends say I need to visit this place when in San Juan Bautista. I am so glad we came! The minute you open the door you can smell the fresh bread being made. We brought home empanadas, cookies and cheesy jalapeno bread but there were so many more choices. They do have tables where you... More

Extremely friendly staff, wide selection of breads and pastries, and great location is what you get. The prices are right and there is great pride taken in the pastries; you can tell. The donuts are a treat! You can sit down and enjoy your items at one of the few tables. Try the extra big and fluffy donut holes.

When the ownership changed in the last decade, however, the quality went downhill and the shop is not inviting. There is so much un-used space, doesn't have the cozy... More

Which is the day we went through town this last time around. However, we have purchased baked goods from them a number of times and their bread is noteworthy.
