This is in fact my second visit to this Morton's. It's old school. They do steaks, and honestly, I've had better. I had the filet - the second size, not the smallest - the waiter recommended that. It was fine, but not great. The sides were also average. It's expensive for what you get, there are better steak houses.

I was a bit disappointed eating at Morton's last night. I took my daughters for their first time hoping that they would experience the tableside menu presentation. I learned that Morton's was bought by Landrys and they decided to do away with the preso. The food was still very good as was the service. The ambience has changed in that... More

I purchased one of the cheaper steaks and it was ok, but I have hard time stomaching $50+ for a steak to begin with. We had some good sides, one of which was essentially fries - again, not the greatest. They were very attentive, provided great service and it worked for a business dinner, but I wouldn't go back there... More

Sitting at table 55 - my usual table. We're greeted and seated promptly for our 7:15pm dinner for three Sunday nite 7/20/14. Dinning room was 60% full. Katheryn was our server - very friendly, proper and attentive. She maintained a very good eye contact with us. Appetizer - baked escargot and chilled seafood platter. Two glasses of Riesling. Main course... More

We made our plans to dine here because they were open on a Sunday for Dine Downtown San Jose week. We had to ask for the Dine Downtown menu, and were subsequently only given one for our party of 4. We were sitting in front of the grill area and could see our entrees sitting on the counter for 10... More

When Morton's was sold to Landry's I worried that they would eventually change things and they have. Initially they went from butter to whipped butter, no big deal but you can tell they are trying to stretch it.The bread is still as good as ever . However the shrimp alexander which used to be 3 huge shrimp served in a... More

I have been coming here for the past 7 years and the food is always good. They stick to the old school steakhouse style and let the food do the talking for them. The Cajun Ribeye is hands down my favorite dish. The least favorite would be the bland crab cocktail appetizer and the bacon wrapped scallops. I like my... More

Had lunch with a group, chose from a reduced menu. Had the filet Med/Rare, green beans and mashed potatoes. Steak was perfectly cooked, but under-seasoned (never had this at a top steakhouse that I can remember!), needed salt and pepper, at least! Mashers were creamy, very nice, plenty of chives on top, and the green beans were tiny, delicate, and... More
